its going to take us a few seasons before we can climb out of the pit that Paladini put us in.
Should never be allowed near the club again and its a disgrace that he was allowed a sideways move instead of being outright sacked for the incompetent buffoon that he is.
SO sir Pie, taking your theory further... Agyemang and vine etc, play to their usual poor standards against Tiverton and Harrow, warnock has allowed them to create their own bed, come start of the season, they are still pants and still have their whopping contracts..
Always an interesting read youare, but I dont quite see your point.
Whether we wallop the pre season sides with PA & RW & HH scoring hatfuls or not, fact remains that we are still stuck with them draining our budget.
There is no escape unless they themselves decide to walk.
So in relfection there is only one person to blame for this contracts and we all know who this is.
Whatever happens in pre season it's going to cost the club money. Either they prove their worth (doubtful I know) and we continue to pay them and don't sign replacements, or they fail miserably and the club pays their contracts off but in return this leaves no money for replacements or they fail miserably which gives Warnock the ammunition he needs to show to the board that not only should they get rid of these players but he'll need more money to bring in replacements.
The argument is that it's a money thing. How do the owners want the business to function? In profit? With massive debts? Or to break even? With our home attendance I’d imagine it’s impossible to break even by going out and spending even more money on new players whilst paying off old players. I’m not being cynical or pessimistic about our transfer activity but just hopefully highlighting the other side of the argument if we don’t spend on new players this summer. Fans will expect both the rubbish to leave and new players to arrive but if the Mittals et al want to run the business successfully I don’t believe both will happen. I would love to be proven wrong.

No you are absolutely right and the level of educated response to your thread just demonstrates how many of our fans think, seemingly expecting Mittal to wave a magic wand and it will all be ok. Do the club cut their losses and start again or do they clear up the mess created by Paladini and Briatore. I say the latter because I don't trust the Mittals not leave us high and dry in the future, we must run a successful business even if it means suffering another season of mid table mediocrity. There are no guarantees of promotion no matter what the outlay but the losses will keep on growing unless something is done about and the squad size is reduced.
I agree with much of whats been said but the Mittals are no mugs. They want QPR to be successful on and off the pitch otherwise they wouldn't have taken the lion's share stake from FB.
A lot of our players we know aren't able to play consistantly for long enough. The likes of Agyemang, Helgusson, Cook etc will have two or maybe three good games then disappear for the next three or four. Using such players as subs/impact players has its uses (and I know you will shoot me down here, but I have seen Agyemang come on and score on three seperate occaissons late in the 2nd half, albeit in most cases too little too late). Agreed they are not good enough to warrant a starting place week in week out but if we are stuck with them they do have their uses.
In business capital expenditure and wages are usually different budgets and decisions made on different levels. Our wage bill will not necessarily impact our transfer budget. The Mittals will trim the wage bill as when and by whatever means to take QPR forward including negotiating contract terminations. It happens in all businesses. They will only keep those Warnock wants.
In the long term I believe we will gain promotion this season and it wouldn't surprise me if next season ST prices for renewals are reduced by another 10 to 15%. Give our owners a chance to change our club for the better
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Are you serious.. to say will will get promoted is far fetched but you are entitle to your opinion, but to say we will go up and have a 15% reduction in ST prices is plain mad..
Maybe you been hanging about with GTP to much, hoping our 15 million war chest is nigh!!
In regards to the Agyemang impact sub bit and the fitness of Cook and Helguson. Hoping these will improve with our new fitness coaches on board. Not saying it's a solution but it could be a small help to getting some kind of consistent performances from them. As for Vine? Think we may need a Witch Doctor to sort him out.
