I noticed on another thread that you had mentioned that Darius Henderson was no better than what we already had so I thought I'd research his scoring record.

Last season Darius Henderson scored 12 goals for Sheffield United in 32 Championship games. Vine scored 1 goal in 31 matches, Clarke 6 in 36, Mackie 8 in 42, Agyemang 3 in 24 and even Helguson scored his 12 goal in more matches than Henderson last season and at a slower rate.

Henderson's 12 goals at 1 every 204 minutes was a better minutes per goal ratio than Simpson's (243), Helguson (232), Agyemang (388) and even Hulse (235).

Since 2005 (excluding the season Henderson played in the Premiership) he has scored 44 goals at 1 every 225 minutes whereas Agyemang in the same period has scored just 31 goals at 1 every 263 minutes. Vine too has scored 31 goals since 2005 but 1 every 296 minutes. Helguson has played only 54 Championship games since 2005 (due to injury and playing Premiership football) and in these matches he has scored 17 goals at a rate of 1 every 234 minutes.

The long and the short of it is that his scoring record whether it be actual goals or how quickly he scores them is better than any player we have at the club. But if Pete is right and there are complications stopping him from transfering to us than nothing above matters anyway. But if the problems are sorted than his record shows he is better (and younger than both Helguson and Agyemang) than our other strikers.

stats dont lie, but i see him as another ageymang, henderson and vine type player and thats why i dont think hes any better than we have.
truth is i dont think a 12 goals a season striker is good enough for a massive promotion challenge, and last year i wouldnt of minded him coming, but this year i dont want to know.
players like him tend to turn up at the bush and then thats them finished, 3 goals in a season and then take their top wages for the next few years whilst doing nothing.
we need a top striker, a goal every other game player, a 20 goal a season man.
and im praying its going to be beattie.

your knees are gonna hurt G.t.p with all that praying youre gonna be doing as beattie or anyone of his calibre will not be joining as out of our price range & wage structure due to the imcompetence of a certain italian clown.

He is better than what we've got, not sure he's enough of an improvement to bother buying, there are other strikers imo who would offer us more bang for buck!

I'm amazed at the steadfast belief that there are 20 goal a season strikers and there are those that aren't.

I think that if you feed a striker, he will score. Our service to strikers recently has been atrocious.

Let's get a zero goal a season keeper, don't worry about defence. And if he starts letting some in we can boo him and #### him off as a no hoper muppet who needs to be replaced by Seaparkbankshiltclemwood.

Really good stats to provide us with sirpie, how ever the service we provide needs to improve first.

I don't think Henderson is the be all and end all but this time last season everyone was saying that if we signed Leroy Lita or Simon Cox they'd be our 20 goal a season striker yet both scored fewer than Henderson. He actually scored more than DJ Campbell, Tudgay, Parkin, Morrison, Best, Stead, Eastwood, Taraabt, Gallagher, McLean, Mackail-Smith etc etc.

He scored the same amount of goals but only half the amount of assists as Blackstock and fewer assists than Simpson. As I said he isn't the be all and end all but his record is was a lot better last season than Vine and Agyemang.
