  • £200,000+ a week.....

    ....for Yaya Toure.

    Madness.

You can see why he left probably the best side in Europe for a 2 bob team like Man City.

    Is he really worth it?.

Is he really worth 30 times the weekly wage of Andy Carroll?.

Can you imagine the fallout if the dib dab gets bored with City and moves on?.

Who would honestly be willing to take over outlays like that?.

      £55.6m for 5 years.

            Agree mate.

            Players like Villa,Messi,Ronaldo etc..

Proper world class players, not average players like Toure.

I like the bit where he said 'it's my dream to play with my brother at City'.

Nothing to do with the cash then?.

If we could have matched City's wages he probably would have come.

I don't even thi k the likes of Messi, Ronaldo,Kaka etc are worth 200k per week.

Football is a squad game and if you pay one star player that much, then you will need to pay a lot of money to the lesser stars which when totalled up will be far more money than the club will make for winning trophies.

Let's take Barcelona as an example.

If they paid Messi 200k pw how much did they pay Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Ibrahimovic and now Henry? My guess is not too far off 120k pw. Then you can add the likes of Alves, Puyol, Toure, who would have wanted around £80-100k pw. Finally add the rest of the rest of the 1st team squad and you are looking at a collosal amount. Perhaps somewhere in the region of £150M-£200M per season in wages for the 1st team squad alone. How much did they make from winning La Liga and the Champions League run?

He turned down a move to Arsenal a few seasons ago when Kolo was there, so it can't really be that much of a dream.

Ibra is 170k a week messi over 200k....barca make alot. 100,000 fans a week at home, biggest sponsorships, tv, etc they can easily afford it. so IMO there players deserve that money.
