I'm not surprised about Beattie but I'm encouraged to hear we are at least trying to sign players of his calibre. Arguably one of Miller, Cox or Bednar won't get much Premiership football next season especially if WBA bring more strikers in so I'd hope we are keeping an eye on WBA's activity in the transfer market because each of these players would improve our squad.
With Fletcher having signed for Wolves, Ebanks-Blake might struggle to get a look in and McCarthy might want SEB to get some regular matches or might now be willing to sell.
Now that Chamakh has gone to Arsenal, Vela's opportunities will have been reduced. Dos Santos did well whilst at Ipswich so could the Spurs striker be an option because it's unlikely that he'll get a regular run in the side.
The likes of Hooper, Hulse, Henderson, Maynard, Chopra and Sharp haven't moved to a new club so even though Beattie might not be an option there are plenty of strikers out there. Marlon Harewood or Clinton Morrison anyone?

Personally I'd like a Hooper style player (Not actually Hooper)
Like Nugent, Leroy Lita, Simpson, Chopra, Kevin Phillips, Ebanks-Blake
Them kind of strikersUnder Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO
