Any idea if we're getting any striker in?

We've been in for him twice. Unless he drops his demands, he'll probably rot in the reserves.

I'd imagine so, James. I have no idea who though.

I'm not surprised about Beattie but I'm encouraged to hear we are at least trying to sign players of his calibre. Arguably one of Miller, Cox or Bednar won't get much Premiership football next season especially if WBA bring more strikers in so I'd hope we are keeping an eye on WBA's activity in the transfer market because each of these players would improve our squad.

With Fletcher having signed for Wolves, Ebanks-Blake might struggle to get a look in and McCarthy might want SEB to get some regular matches or might now be willing to sell.

Now that Chamakh has gone to Arsenal, Vela's opportunities will have been reduced. Dos Santos did well whilst at Ipswich so could the Spurs striker be an option because it's unlikely that he'll get a regular run in the side.

The likes of Hooper, Hulse, Henderson, Maynard, Chopra and Sharp haven't moved to a new club so even though Beattie might not be an option there are plenty of strikers out there. Marlon Harewood or Clinton Morrison anyone?

James Beattie - £40k a week and a Transfer Fee to Sjoke

Kris Boyd - £30k a week and a free transfer.....

im not saying we'd ever sign Boyd but you can see why Beattie wont be coming

Personally I'd like a Hooper style player (Not actually Hooper)
Like Nugent, Leroy Lita, Simpson, Chopra, Kevin Phillips, Ebanks-Blake

                    Them kind of strikers
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

We should pay no more than 20k per week for a striker, we are already making big losses and our club don't need that.

Maybe, but we would like to be playing football in the Prem, you get what you pay for.

He is a top striker at this level, would love him up front

I think he's past his best and injury prone. We'd be one last paycheck.

The club will struggle to sign a striker anyone wants as it will involve a large transfer fee, the likely hood is that we will end up with someone like Marlon Harewood or John Stead.
