  • It's Good to Cheat

Once and for all it has been proven that cheats prosper. Handball 10 seconds from the end of extra time. Penalty shoot out and hey presto a World Cup Semi Final place.

Time wasting, feigning injury, diving, intimidating the ref, spitting, name calling. Don't leave home without these gems in your arsenal.

Loving how Brazil being knocked out has taken the back seat. Suarez to score the winner in the final

Ghana and uruaguay were equally guilty of the diving and feigning injury in the game and throughout the tournament. He handled the ball, got sent off and will now miss semi and final. Ghana should have scored the penalty. Can't see what fifa or uruguay have done wrong here? What do you want the rule to be? Give the other team a goal?
Brazil loved a dive and for me deserved to go out. Don't think germans have cheated, spain's left back did a shocking dive and be interesting to see how argentina act when under pressure but messi gets kicked loads.

Totally amazed last night, I thought as it was so blatant it should have been given as a goal, seeing that the penalty awarded was missed and therefore Uruguay have taken the semi final spot it makes it look that it's ok to sacrifice a player in the case that any penalty given could be missed (as it did).
Ok Uruguay still had a penalty shoot out to go through to win it but that's not the point, they should never have been given that chance.
Imo another refereeing law that should be looked at. Correct decision over 2nd chance (which can be missed) every time.

You'd have put your wages on Gyan scoring that. Oh well.

            Hollands tourney now.

Suarez got punished... Ghana had a pen for it and bottled it haha!! to miss the target from 12 yards to put your team in the semis is criminal.

Suarez will be a massive miss for the semis.

Thing is that Ghana didn't miss the target before the penalty. The ability to cheat so blatantly and win a game as a result shows a big loophole in the laws of the game. Even more obvious than Henry's handball.

The message is that it pays to cheat in football. At least in rugby if a definite score is stopped by foul play a penalty try is awarded. I don't see why the same rule can't be applied in football.

So much for introducing technology, FIFA needs to sort out match altering cheating tactics.

I think yes it was cheating, I think Suarez is a brilliant player and is a cheeky chappy! But i'm only saying that because i really like the bloke!

I can understand everyone saying that they should have been awarded a goal, but that would not have been said had Gyan missed the penalty. Feel sorry for everyone affiliated with Ghana but he really should have scored that!

We all know penalties are missed. Going from a certain goal and a World Cup semi-final place to an uncertain penalty that is missed asks a question about the built in ability to cheat in football.

                            Summed up perfectly from 606:

"I have another two words for you: Harry Kewell. He was sent off against Ghana, for the same incident. He stopped the ball going in by using his hand. He was sent off, Gyan scored. All was good. No one was discussin and making a big deal of the incident.

Now, Suarez does the exact same thing. He was sent off. Gyan Missed. Ghana lose to penalties. Now, people are calling Suarez "a dirty little cheat" when every person in the world would have done the same thing, even the ones that are calling him a cheat.

If Gyan had scored or Ghana had won, we would not have had this discussion. If a Ghanaian, player had done that and Ghana had won, we would not have called that person a cheat, probably would have praised him. He would have been a Hero...Africas Hero...Hand Of God all over again."

Lest we forget, John Pantsil hacked down Sebastian Abreu in the penalty area at the end of normal time for an absolutely cast-iron penalty that the ref ignored....
