  • Alejandro Faurlin close to new QPR deal

ALEJANDRO Faurlin wants his QPR future sewn up in the next two weeks - not least because top Spanish and Italian clubs are knocking on the door for the influential midfielder.

This looks like he will be off to me as 1) What is the right wages ? 2) Our wage cap will be lower than a Spanish club and a Serie A club and 3) He will be paying 50% tax here and a lot less in Spain or Italy.

Sounds to me like an agent trying to bump up his wages

Indeed. If that were true I suggest he would be asking for a transfer, not asking for a few extra grand a week.

we cannot afford to lose him for the sake of a few quid.
              Pivotal to our progress.

I agree but the principal of a wage cap is it is a non negotiable ceiling.

Assist and goal bonus' shouldn't be incorporated in basic wage cap.

I'm sure he will stay and if he is here until 2014 that is fantastic news.

Also, if he plays CM with Legs he is effectively doing two men's work. So release him on a free and give Faurlin his wages.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

Faurlin is going nowhere. Silly analysis

I hope he does not go anywhere as he is pivotal to our success but it was not me who said "we have met twice with QPR, and although the extension is good for Alejandro, we hope to sort out one or two other things as well.", so my analysis is 100% correct and the extra 10% tax could be a real issue.

USAIN BOLT will not run in Britain this summer - unless a row over the tax he pays on prize money is sorted out.
The double Olympic champion was expected to join a star-studded 100m line-up at the Diamond League meeting at Crystal Palace next month.

Bolt stands to earn around £100,000 in appearance fees and prize money. But under current laws he is liable to pay up to 50 per cent tax on any earnings here.

That could be anything. Could be he gets a nice company car, garuntee that we get a striker in. Not saying its not the tax thing but Faurlin definatley wont leave in the summer so its best not to make up things which aren't factual/

As I said "I hope he does not go anywhere as he is pivotal to our success" and i am not making things up, this is a message board where people discuss things and I am baffled why his agent would say what he is saying. When was the last time an agent went public on discussions quoting higher wages and other teams asking about his clients availability when discussions were going the way they wanted ?
