The 33,000 Cardiff Play Off Final Count

Think the 33000 figure was a bit of the mark , heard from someone who worked in the BO that it was more like 28500 which I thought looked nearer the mark from inside the ground.

Worst experience at a football match ever, travelled from Cornwall via London and back again . Took over 5hrs to get to Cardiff from the Bush and I had flu, it was also my birthday the day of the match.

My long lasting impression of that day was that I have never seen such a disgusting set of supporters as Cardiff City's in all my life.

I was there with my older sister and dad!

Got the coach at about 5-6am from Watford, and got up to Cardiff at around 10-11am. Went into the city centre in to a pub full of R's, everyone was bouncing around, going mad, a big bloke even fell through a table from dancing on it.

Bought one of those air horns and memorabilia flags of which got snapped by some foreigner on the bus back :@

Great day out, other than the result of course, would love another day like that in wembley, with us being the 3-0 winners

I remember the services before the bridge into Wales, full or R's there and seeing a few in the limited edition shirt.

Before the game, having a Cardiff fan singing their song, some long winded anthem. Then our fan singing Pigbag

Mike McLean doing the half time entertainment where they were pushing that giant football.

I was there, hair sprayed blue and white....so much anticipation and excitement....we should've won it....a joy to see so many R's there!! Cardiff was overawed and filled with the flavour of Shepherds Bush, West London finest...

During the match well it was emotional heartstopping and was the 2nd time I bawled my eyes out after what materialized.

I drove up initially but was so upset I couldn't muster the drive back. Mate dorove us back eventually and during a stop over point on the M4 I was still demorolised eyes swelling from the result....I was alarmed when my car starting rocking....some nutter started rocking the car each side...they stopped and they tried to get me to see the funny side. Apparently found out that there were a few Chelsea and Millwall that travelled down for the game. Keep wandering if it was them that nearly wrote off my car...

Will never forget the occasion though despite the result...

I was there, remember getting loads of stick from Cardiff fans in the city, Feeling of pride seeing the number of Hoop fans there, Tommy Williams not passing the ball, Heart break at the final whistle.

I was there, and my abiding memory was looking at my mate snoring his head off for most of the match, and me wishing I'd drunk as much beer as he had put away. Oh, and the Tommy Williams pass that never was. :anger:

I was there, was about 14 i think, i remember walking through the city centre after the game, being shouted and spat at by loads of welsh idiots

My father in law is on the board of JD sports so went hospitality, left Northolt at 6 30am in minibus from The Plough(RIP) in shirt and tie, after a fine lunch,went in Rangers directors box, looked across to our support and tears rolled down my cheeks, awesome sight, remember during the game getting told to sit down by Rs staff and to stop the anti-welsh abuse, met Langley at HT, told him he was a **** for being banned, Tommy Kin Williams, outside all the taff burberry ****bags giving it large, awful awful day

I was there with two non Rs (one Pompey and one PalARSE). Couldn't be bothered to stay out in the rain drinking, so found Pizza Express and stayed there for food and beer for the three hours or so pre-match.

Remember Lisa Rogers' nipples on the big screen (she was smuggling a couple of peanuts down there...).

Remember discovering that there were at least five Chelsea around me - so much for our 'huge' fan base(!).

Remeber ****tu having their strikers on toast all day.

Remember 'square it' Tommy.

Remember the lob.

Remember the Taffyt w a t s in the queue for the train.

Remember getting back to the hotel in Bristol well down in the mouth.

Remember the 'livener' of a couple of triples at the hotel bar before the taxi arrived to go down town.

Remember a great night.

Remember waking up with the room trashed, but DO NOT remember how it happened.

Also knew 100% we'd be back up the next season...

3 of us from Galway flew over, the whole weekend we had a great time, we moved over here in 1999, really hit home how much i missed the RSSSSSSSSS..;D

went with lsa, 9 coaches i think....there were some from other clubs not many..mainly to have a go at the taffs.

i just recall naming the ****ewholes we'd be going again...stockport,chesterfield etc...
