  • Agyemang & Bristol away on TV

    From Kilburn Times

FORGOTTEN man Patrick Agyemang is eager to relaunch his Loftus Road career when QPR's players return for pre-season training on Thursday.- SUPER

The striker endured a nightmare season, starting just two league games under Jim Magilton before Rangers shipped him out to Bristol City for a miserable loan spell.

But Agyemang is determined to force his way back into the Rs side - even though manager Neil Warnock has already signed two new forwards and stated his intention to add more.

"It feels like a fresh start and I'm going back there to fight for a place," Agyemang told the Times. "I'm excited about going back, seeing the lads I haven't seen for a while and meeting the new players.

"Everyone had a meeting with the manager at the end of last season, just before we went on holiday. He said he liked the look of me and told me 'just make sure you're ready'.

"I know he likes his strikers and he made it clear he was going to bring more in, which is good for the club because we needed to freshen up the squad.

"It's all very well bringing loan players in, but it's better if you don't have people coming and going all the time."

Until Warnock signed up Plymouth's Jamie Mackie and Leon Clarke from Sheffield Wednesday, Agyemang and the out-of-favour Rowan Vine were the only senior forwards on QPR's books.

Agyemang and Vine formed a fruitful partnership after joining Rangers two and a half years ago, but both have struggled for fitness and form more recently.

While Vine turned down potential loan moves last season, Agyemang accepted the chance of a three-month spell at Bristol City - but admits he gained little from the experience.

A groin injury kept the 29-year-old out of the team for two months and he failed to find the net in the seven appearances he did make as City slid down the Championship table.

"I didn't really enjoy my time there - it was a bad experience," declared Agyemang. "We lost my first game 6-0 to Cardiff and things soon went from bad to worse.

"I had an injury that kept niggling at me and the team were going through a bad period, so it was an uphill battle.

"But I'm looking ahead now. I'm aiming to get a good pre-season, hopefully with no injuries and I want to make this a positive year."

Meanwhile, Rangers' Championship trip to Bristol City has been brought forward for live coverage on Sky Sports and will now kick off at 7.45pm on Friday October 22.
Thank **ck thats all over with !!! need a holiday!!!

This Is shame on me and my family for what I am about to say ..

But I like Agyemang, I always have. It's a blow that he is apprently on big
money because he isn't worth it, but purely based on him as a player, I like him a lot
    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

The man is rubbish. Sooner he goes the better. Big time Charlie with his Bentley.

You defend our players so much. He puts in a **** poor performance and then larges it down South Africa Rd with his Bentley as if he is some big man. He is playing for a poor team and he is acting as if he is Wayne Rooney. I am not happy he gets paid such obscene money.

not his fault though he gets paid that.

Not defending him on the pitch as he is pony
