Comments (0) Add to My Stories Gordon Strachan looks certain to land S****horpe striker Gary Hooper after his former club Celtic pulled out of the race.

If they're stalling on £2.5m,should we step in or are we assuming Hooper prefers the idea of playing at the Riverside stadium or that our board are to continue chasing freebies.

Agree Gee. I tried to argue the other day that we should show we were serious and actually bid for him but I just got my head bitten off by various people saying "how do you know we aren't secretly in negotiations to buy him?" To which my only response can be that our plans to lure him to Loftus Rd must be more secret than the D Day Landings...

I'm,as ever, with you on this.Where I got this from I've no idea, but I thought at one point about 15 months ago,Palidini virtually had first refusal on HOOPER when he failed to sign him for £2m.If we could sign him,Taarabt, and Ambrose for a collective figure of around £6m I'd be a happy bunny, but somehow I can't see it happening, such seems to be the lack of ambition by our board.

How can they be "certain" to get him if they refuse to meet their £2.5m price tag ? Seems they have a lot of work to do to get him.
