As for Defoe, I see what you're saying, however...He'll at least give us some direct attack which we've missed massively so far this World Cup. We really need to start going forward, and he'll provide that type of play. Contradictively, I wouldn't start him though.

      For me...

      GK - Hart

      RB - Johnson
      LB - Cole
      CB - Terry
      CB - Dawson

      RM - Milner
      LM - Cole
      CM - Barry
      CM - Lampard

      AM - Gerrard

      CF - Rooney
I think you are about spot on with that side Benny, however you can't drop James as he was the only player in the last game that could walk off with his head held high. No reason at all to drop James who is the experienced keeper that should of been playing from the start. With James in against the US we wouldn't of been in this sh it, just MHO benny before you go at me.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I won't disagree on that, but I could say the same for Joe Hart. For me, Rob Green shouldn't have even been in the squad. I told you he was a liability and that Robinson should have been in his place. He (Robinson) has his confidence back and is playing very, very well. Green has leaked a tremendous amount of goals going back to his Norwich days. He's never looked confident, nor that good. Joe Hart has had a great season and is looking to be our future in goal. This would have been the perfect platform for his career to take off.
          Your mum would love me...

I also rate Hart. I won't agree regarding Robinson but I can see why you would think he deserves another shot. I think Hart would of been a good choice at the start of the tournament but now we have a must win do or die game, we have to stick with James. It would be unfair on the lad Hart to throw him in with such a massive game. Also agree Green is pants. Way to small for a keeper and has no presence. Also james communication will help the defence.

I wouldn't select Hart now. England don't need another rookie keeper in a big game. It didn't work for Carson against Croatia, Green agaisnt the USA or Bonetti back in 1970.

I also wouldn't pick Milner as he is already on a yellow from the 1st game/

                      I would go for

                      James
                      Johnson Upson Terry A Cole
                      Lennon, Barry Lampard J Cole
                      Gerrard
Rooney, although I'm tempted to drop him for Crouch.

P.S. On 2nd thoughts, I would pick Crouch.

I honestly cannot believe that Heskey is still playing in the Premier League.

Fair play you were right (would have had a little gloat like you too if I'd be proved right!). Does worry me the team though as we need goals and that midfield does lack a creative edge. On the bright side no wright-philips which was another rumour I heard about an hour ago.
