  • Heskey

Just heard the England team for tomorrow - Upson, Milner and Defoe in, Heskey, Lennon and of course Carragher out.

Could Heskey do a job for us and would you sign him if you were our manager?
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

No, because as manager of Queen's Park Rangers Football Club, the hiring of toilet attendants would be within GP's scope, not mine.

I'd be very disappointed to see Joe Cole left out again.

My own opinion....Dawson is a better C/half than Upson.Upson coming off bad season witht the hammers and dawson had good season with Spurs.Upson has played for England dawson has not...so he decides onUpson.About as mobile as my backside.

Still keeping gerrard on left side makes no real sense to me as does having defoe up with Rooney-but that's why he gets paid all that dosh.Having defoe up front, will make Rooney drop deeper unlike at man Utd when playing with himself.

Don;t have a problem with Milner, but think Cole would do better job on left.

I agree about Dawson. Far better CB who's had a far better season than Upson. The Gerrard one is plain for all to see, but that's never stopped any manager from putting him on the left.

As for Defoe, I see what you're saying, however...He'll at least give us some direct attack which we've missed massively so far this World Cup. We really need to start going forward, and he'll provide that type of play. Contradictively, I wouldn't start him though.

              For me...

              GK - Hart

              RB - Johnson
              LB - Cole
              CB - Terry
              CB - Dawson

              RM - Milner
              LM - Cole
              CM - Barry
              CM - Lampard

              AM - Gerrard

              CF - Rooney

media pressure got to him and he is naming the side 24 hours before now.
the team mentioned IS the team.

Statistical reassurance dept: Since 1982, England have won 62% of all World Cup games shown on the BBC, but just 30% of those broadcast by ITV. Tomorrow's game is their first of this tournament to be broadcast by the BBC.

I'd be surprised if Milner starts and not Joe Cole to be honest. Defoe deserves his chance but is definitely a sign of Capello's stubborness to change the formation.
If we're still drawing or god forbid losing with 10 minutes to go expect crouch to come on, go long ball......goodnight england

That BBC thing is definitely true. It would be interesting to see the % for group matches.
