Had this arguement at work...one which everyone agrees with. JT is a Wayne Kerr, but doesn't deserve bad press over this. He was led to believe he had the backing of several senior players, all who have bottled it and not backed him. I hate JT so much, but at least he owns a set of balls. No matter what we all think of him, he's done the right thing by voiceing concern. I'm massively disappointed in all the ones who gave it all the talk, then stood to let JT take the fall...Now THAT'S pretty pathetic.

I'd be inclined to agree mate. JT would make easy work of him.

        He's still a tw@t though.

JT v Gerrard, would definitely be an interesting one what with JT's criminal family background and Gerards Scouse underworld connections.
I think Lampard gave a really good interview though backing up his team mate and really sounding positive for the players.
Lets just hope whatever has happened will have some effect and we win on Weds and who knows maybe we'll improve, we definitely need to.

My personal view for what it's worth is that there is more than just a little bit of self preservation from Terry and some of the senior players. Also wh was he asked and not Gerrard?

Anyway in the press conference Terry said some things that I agree with (we weren't very good being the main one). What I don''t like is that he appeared to be deflecting the blame of an iffy performance and a completely dire one at Capello. "If we upset the manager then so what". This is completely wrong and smacks of someone with a bee in his bonnet over getting stripped of the captaincy. Also coming out and saying a meeting had happened with certain players and naming names was also something that I believe Terry hoped would almost strengthen the position of the team. Also his fawning and clamouring for Joe Cole to be put back in the team was akin to what happens on a Sunday morning when the managers kid gets picked or so and so's mate plays, it has naff all to do with Terry. If he felt strongly you go and speak to the manager in private you do not go and have a bit of a chat about it with the world's press

The stuff about that the players are bored etc is also one that completely illustrates what a bunch of overpaid primma donnas we have out there. They are in a 5* hotel trainnig / working for 2 hours a day with the rest of the time their own. Check out the hotel facilities of where there staying and see if there not a lot for them to do?

This has all gone horribly wrong and the so called 'Golden Generation' have a lot to answer for. They failed under Sven in 3 tournaments to deliver what they had done in qualifying, they didn't even qualify under McClaren and after a good qualifying campaign under Capello it all seems to be going wrong again. It can't always be the manager and it's about time rather than self preservation that they stood up and took some responsibility for a shambolic effort.

There was an interview with one of the Algerian players who was so enthused about it all and was saying how this was his dream and that his family were proud of him and that he was going to do his best to try and get Algeria into the next round etc. It was so refreshing and was the kind of thing you want to hear from your players as it is the feeling we all had in the school playground that if one day we could play for England at a world cup we would do all we can etc. I know for one I don't think I'd be moaning about a lack of activities for god's sake.

Wake up boys and remember why you started playing football, tap into that and you might be able to save it and get people back on your side.

Too right, if Gerrard didn't end up being badly scratched by Terry, I'd eat this computer! As for Gerrard, he sounds so chavvy, I'm sure he would try and pull John Terry's hair.
Me, I'd nick all Terry's lucky heather, pegs, and flush 'em down the toilet, the ***** ****.
