  • Rooney's rant at the end of the game and subsequent apology?

Sorry for another Rooney thread (feel free to merge mods)...

But really felt I had to post specifically about rooney and his rant at the end of the game tonight.

for any one didnt hear it he said "Nice to see your own fans booing you, that's what loyal support is".

Now dont get me wrong i dont condone booing your own team, and never have and hopefully never will.....but...quite frankly i didnt pay thousands of pounds to go out and watch that shower of **** tonight...and at he end of the game couldnt name one player who showed passion.....back to rooney....he done **** all!!! The Algerians had him in their pockets, heskey actually done and created more than him.

Maybe if he showed the passion he did to the cameras after the game during the actual 90 minutes his rant would have been justified.

Capello got it wrong. But lets be honest england should have beaten the algerians whatever the formation, the players were a joke and so was rooney.....so he should keep his mouth shut and concentrate on his football:yush:

I have had stand up rows at Loftus Road, over fans booing individual players, which I cannot accept, but collectively booing the whole team at the end of the match is maybe the only way you can let them know how totally unacceptable that performance was.
Rooney needs to look at his own performance before spouting off like that.

He along with many other England players are too far up themselves and think they are beyond booing, doesn't matter who you are or what you have done in the past as far as I am concerned it doesn't make you exempt from criticism, although I do find booing a bit extreme and would not do it myself, but hey I didn't pay all that money to go out there.

wayne rooney can do one.. im sorry but last night was a shambles.. how anybody can question a fans choice to boo that performance is beyond me.

they pay so much money to go to world cups to follow england.. and you've got a **** like him saying that?

          give me u21's anyday..

move the 'golden era' on.. next euros/world cup.. leave out barry, heskey, james, beckham, gerrard, lampard etc.. give it to the future of english football.. players who will die for the shirt.

didnt think id watch england and feel exactly how i did at home to ipswich first half last season.

          might aswell not have qualified

overrated cunexttuesday. He's bottled it this world cup. Shows the nation that he WONT single handedly win it for us and that he is certainly not the best or near it in the world.

how any human with a brain larger than a pea could compute in their head (20 from here), that england could win the world cup with heskey as first choice, a four year retired player as first choice, and a six year retired player begged to join and play for us, is beyond me.

bottom line is that rooney showed there what he really thinks of the fans and it appears a lot of these superstars feel the same

what her should have noted was that even dureing one of the worst england performances I can remember the england fans were still singing the national anthem and rule brittania even in the 70th and 80th minutes and drowning out those vuvezulas with thier passion and support

if rooney lampard et all had show a fraction of that passion and loyalty the fans would not have been booing at the end

but rooney is too much of an idiot to realise that, some players do get it such as barry and crouch but a lot dont

I would drop rooney and lampard along with heskey get crouch and defoe in and j cole
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

30,000 people coming to South Africa to watch England. Not loyal supporters? Rooney is wrong. England deserved to be booed for that performance. If the fans didn't care they wouldn't boo.

If England cared as much as the fans, we might stand a chance.

This loyal thing is rubbish, if players were loyal and wanted to play for a team/club they would all take a pay cut but all I see is that they go were they get offered more money.

No words for last night, they couldn't even get a the basic pass right... as a nation we feel ashamed at the world laughing at us.

barry was the worst culprit. EVERY time he got the ball he hammered it up the flanks, obviously searching for the heskey knock down, but he never got near him once.
beckenbauer was right, and they proived it last night.
kick and rush football and they cant even do that right.,

World class players can shine no matter how bad their teams play, they will always make a difference as class shines through. Just goes to show Rooney is nowhere near them and imo never will be, he needs people around him who can act as a cover, put him in a mediocre side and you would see no difference, put the likes of Messi or Ronaldo in and they would stand out a mile.
I woud drop him next game, show him that he is not needed as he has become complacent in the same way Beckham and various others did under Sven.
Will take balls to drop him but i believe Capello would do it.
