I would have stuck with green, but these continental managers are typically cut throat...

If we had a english manager i think Green would keep his place, but i fancy capello to change to James.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

GTP - hadn't seen that but I tend to agree with Capello if that's reported right. I know it's a cliche but it's also a truth that it's all about confidence in goal and his must be shot. And the (newby) back 4 are going to be wobbly enough tonight without being spooked by a dodgy keep behind them. Green's last two outings have ended v v badly for England (getting sent off and giving away the pen last time was poor judgment as much as clumsyness). He's had his chance. There would be no point in doing it again apart from rehabiliation for him. Sorry - not the time or place or function of England. He will need to mend his own problems. Get off the bus

Wouldn't take that as fact by any means! That being said I dont think he will play tonight. End of his england career? Not a chance!

                James for me.

Everyone will be looking at every move Green makes and he will be under even more intense pressure, I also think like the above poster has said, his confidence will be shot and these are massive games and we can't afford to take more chances.

James communicates much better and he would be my choice.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Would probably agree with that. Still think Hart is probably our best keeper although the occasion could easily get to him

I rate Hart very highly but like you said I just think he is a little raw.

If we go with Hart then it needs to be done now not in the knockout stages.

I definitely think James is the person who can be relied on in this situation, even Hart, but i wouldn't count Green out for good, it's just 1 mistake and ok it was in a world cup game, but it was only the opener, not a decider or the knock out stages and as the Great Gordon Banks has said, 'Most of us (goalkeepers) have made mistakes in our time'
So imo, not this world cup but yes he has a future with England.

I would stick with Green and show him our support, I feel he will be more up for it this time round.

I would have gone with James from the start of the tourno so its a gd thing to put him in, a better keeper overall. Hart can become number 1 after this tourno and gain the experience
