  • Warnock waits on Ambrose

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...201846,00.html

QPR boss Neil Warnock is staying patient in his quest to sign Darren Ambrose from former club Crystal Palace.

The talented midfielder, who scored 20 goals for Palace last term, has been strongly linked with a move to Loftus Road but the CPFC 2010 consortium now running the Eagles have put any player sales on hold.

Rangers are reported to have bid £750,000 for his signature but still the deal hangs in the balance.

Warnock says he is happy to wait on his summer target who is said to be very keen to complete the switch.

"There's been no change. Darren obviously was very disappointed to more or less have the rug pulled from under his feet," Warnock told the club's official website.

"He'd already shook hands on everything. I think he was actually looking into a box for his family as well.

"I think Darren was very, very disappointed but it's their prerogative. I know the guys that are coming into 2010, they're good people and they want to do their best for the club.

"The offer's on the table and then we'll have to wait and see what will happen and obviously Darren's hoping he'll be able to move permanently. But I think we've just got to play it by ear over the next few weeks really."

Have a feeling we'll have to pay more for him.

Surely he's worth £1m, hope the club are not too stubborn if Palace want a little more for him, afterall, we would do the same thing in their position.

To be fair to Neil, I do agree with pretty much most of what he says here. I reckon Ambrose does want to go, but not so much he's got his 'heart set on a move'. If you up your bid, I can certainly see him going, but if not I can't really see him going for 750k; especially with the news that the wage bill is okay as it is, there is no need to sell anyone and any money we do bring in will be fully available to the new manager.

If he does go, then I can only thank him for the unbelivable season he has given us, and his goal on the last day. Sir Ambrose, Hero of Hillsborough.

That was harsh on Jams. He has been nice to us and behaving well.

Jams is welcome. And if we are nice to him he might agree to take back Clint Hill on a 28 day "if you are not totally satisfied with your goods" refund.

Why all the jams hate? He's not a bad poster, there are plenty of Rangers fans here I'd rather see banned before him. It's nice to have a different perspective sometimes.

Cheers for the goodwill guys, looks like there hasn't been much progress on Ambrose for a couple of days.

                          Spot on.

And maybe it makes sense as well.

I dont believe he is a one season wonder from now on
