The problem you englishmen must find hard to deal with is the fact that the players are ruined by money, sex AND morale at a low point. The great, great people of England doesnt deserve that at all.
My suggetion is to allow only 5 players in a starting line up in the premiership. No matter how many clubs that will go bust.
If, on the contrary the prem. league will continue to grow financially for the few only, your national team will be totally out of depth in the years to come.
Oh, and just to add. We foreigners care for English football as well.Par example: In Norway, English football is far more popular than Norwegian football.
