I wish you wouldn't keep talking sense.

Anyway I have heard Derry is good with his elbows and should break a few noses.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Derry played 53 games for a Palace side that took more points then us last season, so he's half decent...just

More shower of sh1t to add to the crap we have had in the last few seasons. Why can't we just buy a quality left back and a quality centre mid who has leadership qualities.

Why do we want 2 thirty something northerners who have been around the block who are so f**king god dam slow!

And the club wonder why they have only sold 6.5k season tickets.

So yet again, next season our season will be over by xmas and we'll all be saying next summer we need proper full backs and strikers who can score bloody goals!

What is it with us getting freebies from teams that either went down or nearly went down!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

I dont know much about either hill and derry, so hard for me to form any opinion on how good they are..

I still trust in warnock that he knows what he's doing, these two seem like a couple of tough lads who in fairness we are short of, ive never seen such a bunch of panzys such as ephraim, cook, leigertwood...
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

A Palace side that would have finished mid table on simular points as us, If we want top 6 or even top 2 then we need someone who can do more than "lead" we need someone who can play football aswell.

Think some want us to play like Barcelona every week. Burnley, Stoke, Hull, Sheffield Utd, Blackpool all got promoted with loads of Shaun Derry's in their team. We missed a leader last season, if we'd had one that could have made the difference getting into the play-offs

Fair enough, but I'm prepared to at least give him a chance and to trust Warnock

Frode dont use the, "who do you expect Messi?" or "you expect us to be like Barca" type of lines, because thats not what im saying. I am saying we need a leader, yes, but there are other players who can lead and play the defensive mid role who are better players than Derry.

He is not a top 6 side midfielder.

i trust warnock aswell mate but if we do sign these players and struggle to bring ne1 else in or any first choice signings, well that would lead to a mid-table finish in my opinion

Not my first choice either but Neil is the manager, and if he thinks he could do a job for us that's enough for me.

I hope your right and im wrong, but Derry is 32 and isnt going to suddenly turn into a mobile and technically good footballer.

Gavin Mahon isn't a mobile and technically good footballer either, but some on here thinks he was a massive loss this season. Palace fan: "I have always admired Derry - not the most gifted. But the desire and effort put other more "talented" players to shame"

I hope, and think he can do a job for us for one season at least

The better deals will undoubtedly come in July, my only concern is the ambition.

it seems to me we are looking for a Play off spot and not automatic promotion. We are taking 3 players from Crystal Palace and they were probably going to finish mid table at best and we are not even taking their better players in Clyne, Danns and Speroni. Hill and Derry are finishing contracts for a reason, why didn;t warnock extend them last summer before the Palace difficulties came to light would be my worry?
