  • FAO Pete and MYU ref. C&P Regulacions....

    Hello Peter and MYU,

I saw this post on another site and wondered what you thought of it......

    http://qprreport.proboards.com/index...y&thread=14178

    COPY and PASTE Warning:

    For all boards:

In the spirit of other websites warning over the dangers of copying and pasting we felt we should also join in.

Basically if you are going to warn people over the dangers of copying and pasting it is probably better to not copy and paste your warning from another site otherwise you run the risk of looking like a hypocritical idiot.

    Taking for example this post:

IMPORTANT: It is not only your reputation at stake. If you take part in blogs, forums, or discussion boards please respect the Terms and Conditions. When you copy and paste from the web and post text or images in any of the spaces mentioned above you are putting the host site in danger. Search engines have "spiders" that check for stolen images and text. Websites that contain copied material are "flagged" for copyright violation, even if the content was posted by members.

Which can be found in a previous form here:

    Or even:

Copyrighted material may not be reproduced without permission of the copyright holder, period. There are narrow "fair use" exceptions, but they do not extend to the reproduction of an entire post/article, or even a substantial portion of it, on a blog or website. Writings, photographs, etc. are automatically copyrighted when committed to a "fixed format" (yes, a website counts), with or without a notice, and immediately become entitled to copyright protection, including the prohibition on duplication without permission. To duplicate such material without permission is illegal, and can result in civil and in some cases criminal penalties. This is not a matter of opinion--it's the law

Basically if you copy and paste the VERY least you can do is acknowledge your source.

Hope this helps those concerned over such matters.

Please note that I asked the original poster for permission to post this which was given......

    Did you do the same?

And here is the view of the club concerning C&P....

Sorry for the delayed reply – its been quite hectic here over the last few days.

The site actually provides a link to www.qpr.co.uk, as well as the editorial, so we have no objections to this.

I hope that clears up the matter.

Thanks once again for the e-mail

An interesting thread. Amazing that someone would take the time to contact the club about something as trivial as this and try to get a fellow fan into trouble.....

Very sad indeed. I pity this HA9 person.......

I think he targeted QPR Report but if it backfired it could have hurt more people.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:
