if Ray was alive today how far do you think he would've progressed? I believe he would be playing in a top four premiership team and leading the front line for England in S. Africa. God Bless Ray, an enormous lost to us and England

It's amazing how people improve when the pass away. I think he would have been in and out of the team, nothing special. I wouldn't want to stand in the way of a fantasy though.
He wasnt that good for us, albeit only young and a tragic loss (more so for his friends that died cos of his driving), but i dont think he was all that. We have a habbit of thinking all our youngsters are world beaters, when, they get found out and are crap.
in all fairness nobody can say and will ever know how good he would of been. all we can do is remember him for what he was and did when he was alive RIP Ray Jones
Hard to say. Many players start out as the next big thing only to fade to oblivion.Hopefully he would have made a success of his career but you never know.
tragically my nephew lost one of his friends recently in a similar acci8dent. These young kids drive like loons and end up in a box, the driver was going 85 in a 30 road and stacked it.
He would have probably been a 15 goal championship player.

fair comment, although I think some of the other comments show a lack of respect and are a tad harsh

agree some may be harsh. It would of all be down to his attitude and how hard he worked and wanted to improve and like i said thats something we will never know sadly
Good question and 1 we will never get an answer too.
All I can say is that I believe he would of played premiership football and he had much more ability than Dexter Blackstock. Dexter is playing at a top end championship side, so that is why I believe Ray would of been playing in the premiership.
He had a terrific touch for a big lad and he held up the ball really well.
Also knew where the back of the net was.
Infact he is just the type of striker we have been crying out for in years.
