Just to put this whole situation into some perspective - Ambrose to QPR, Ambrose undergoes medical at QPR stories - were headliners on Sky Sports News - so unless some of you lot want to tell me those bits were leaked to Sky by QBP or similar why not abuse the multi-billion pound source rather than your usual punchbag - just a thought

Let's forget Amrose and move forward. If it happends fine. If it does not happend then it is not the end of the world.

Darren Ambrose deal is on, says QPR boss

Jun 3 2010 By Paul Warburton

QPR boss Neil Warnock reckons the £750,000 deal to bring Darren Ambrose to west London is still on – despite the midfielder's new Crystal Palace owners slapping an embargo on all transfers this week.

But the Hoops manager is confident he and Ambrose are too far down the line to turn back now.

He said: “Darren has his heart set on coming to Rangers, and we’ve shaken hands on the deal with Palace.

“I doubt they and their new owners will want to renege on the transfer now.

“If this is all about money – then we’ve agreed a fair deal, and we’re not going to increase our bid.”

At the 11th hour last Friday, the south London club’s prospective new owners Steve Parish and Martin Long pulled the plug on the deal after medical and personal terms had been agreed back at Loftus Road.

Also, it makes me laugh that so many of you seem to know more about the members of our consortium than what we the Palace fans do. For starters we know the 2 main members of the consortium who have been dealing with the takeover are Steve Parish and Martin Long, between them there wealth is valued at around the £150-200 million mark, yes we know they are unlikely to splash out millions on players etc but they are going to run us properly and debt free, also there are believed to be wealthy silent investors too. So in response to one of the posters they certainly do have a lot more money than what Jordan and the big difference being is that there will be a boartd of members rather just a chairman on his own like Jordan was having to fund everything himself.

          what? who said that?
whether we get him or not he has only had 1 good season his whole career!
for as many palace fans that love him theres more Ipswich/Charlton fans out there who say he is a lazy ******* with an attitude problem.
BTW shame you survived i was hoping Palace was going to die.....still hope i suppose
wouldnt mind Speroni and Clyne but you can keep the rest of your crap

And who was the manager that got the best out of him, his one and only good season.

£750,000 is a good deal for him, taking a big chance paying anymore than that.
            They seek him here.................

If Ambrose says he is off, the new mugs in power will take £750,000, as from December 2010 when he has 6 months left on his contract, they will get zip, nothing, nada.

                he's worth £750k tops
bit of a gamble as to whether he can replicate his one decent season. Like you say we have Warnock so youd think he could get it out of him.
Seems like Warnock loves a gamble.

Deluded individual of the highest order. Parish who is CEO of international marketing group TAG, a company that no longer sponsors Palace would have most of his wealth tied up in assets, so would Long, who founded Churchill Insurance (Oh Yesssssssssssss). Jordan f**ked £30million in five years on average crowds of around 15,000 and ended up with a team that was no more than top half of the Championship. Therefore if these two with some of their mates are going to 'run' Palace debt free, firstly they have to get riid of that £30million through the CVA, which I understand is still to be finalised. So assuming gates continue around the 15,000 mark then there will have to be drastic cutbacks to curb annual loses of £6million per season, which from what I see will have to be funded through the sale of players and reduced wages for new players. Whatever their worth, I doubt very much that they will spunk their cash in the same way that Jordan did, remember these people are proven individuals in business and not a person who was lucky to be in an industry at the right time and made a quick killing like Jordan.

In addition to this a consortium is never the greatest way to run a football club, however rich individuals are, there will always be disagreements, will always be political infighting, will always be leaks, heaven knows, we ought to given our consortium headed by FB. In short Crystal Palace are now very much a selling club.

Taarabt has got to be our main target, Ambrose would be lower down my list.

                                definately
Taarabt and a couple of strikers should be priority.
Whatever money the board do release should be spent on them first.
