Hands up on Ambrose,i said it was a definite,i was wrong,very wrong.What a pity,he would have been our best signing in ages,probably since Routledge.

I still don't rate him. I'll stick with that opinion off the back of one good season. Would I be happy if he signed? Of course, but missing out does not disappoint me in the slightest.

The only ones of our fans who are disappointed are those who gave it the biggun about signing him, and those who hoped they'd fold. These are the fans who make us look silly when things didn't work out as they'd hoped.

Still, it does not mean he definately won't come. You don't know what the terms of CP's survival are. They still may need to sell.

I don't think you can get as far as post-medical and then withdraw. The contract would surely have been signed subject to that being cleared. If he passed he would be on the books. I am sure he would of passed had he had one. So I am pretty sure it never got that far. Very unusual to have any "cooling off" period in a contract like this. He couldn't just pull out of a done deal without consequence.

Won't be the first nor last rumour that was wrong on here. I think the Racing Post also had this one in the done and dusted pile (I was told yesterday) so I am thinking the rumour might have been getting pushed by those with vested interests (and some on here were used as conduits to give it legs). We may have been played. No one's fault methinks. Only a rumour till done.

To be fair, he had a medical and agreed to join us. That's as good a 'done deal' as you'll get, so you can hardly have a pop at Pete on this one. His concience must have gotten the better of him.

Selling assets like ambrose will be key to that and ambrose knows that. So, go on sky sports, say you love palace and want to stay. I don't think this fans consortium know what their getting into. If 100 fans all put in £5000 each, they'd have £500k. That won't touch the sides. They will need to cut the wage bill, as well as the debt. These fans are just prolonging the inevetable.
