not sure about fear but when even people like pete start to say they don't expect serious spending it does make you wonder if expectations have been artificially raised all over again.

To be honest and remember this is my own opinion.... Football is like the be all and end all to a lot of people. Also pride or false pride as I like to call it kicks in and people start acting out... probably due to fear
