  • Are the Board..Pinning Too Much faith In Warnock?

Okay, I know its early and I suspect by the start of the new season we will have a completely new fresh side, but I suspect it won't be about spending money on it.

I am under no illusions that the board are putting all their eggs into one basket in firmly believing that Neil Warnock is the best signing they could ever have. The only reservation I have, come Christmas if Plan A is yet again not working, will we rue the lessons that we have not learn't from previous seasons??

Its obvious we need a proven goalscorer, even two to make a concerted push for promotion.

Personally, I feel we are miles away from candidates for automatic promotion, have no more than a fairly good chance of the Play Offs. Teams that get out of this division automatically do so with a sizeable budget, others can do it on a team spirit like Burnley and Blackpool have shown in previous seasons. The problem with that, the way our board and support is structured we expect more, to me I'm guessing we are a long way off feeling united behind the club, even though we are far better position under Amit, ishan and co, than we ever were under Flavio. The Likes of Burnley and Blackpool come with a underdog tag, so promotion to their fans is a bonus, to us we seem to expect it due to the rich people we have behind the club.

The problem I have with Warnock is he is a very good salesman type of manager, if we the fans were not led to believe we would investing heavily in players, we would have taken it on the chin and accept it.

When you hear comments like " I can't wait to end of season, when i get the players I want" and then you get Mackie and Clarke then obviously fans feel a little cheated. I would much prefer the club just to get on with it and actually surprise us with a buy, then we can all be excited.

I guess this summer will see a number of incomings and outgoings but I do not expect us to break the bank, in fact I see all backing to the manager in the belief he is the man for the job, time will tell if they have got it right.

us being favourites for promotion was a total joke-we'll push for play-offs at best....had that view before the usual let down with signings!!! its down to the board to loosen the purse strings-nw can only do so much!

Pete old son welcome to the party....these guys (just like Flabio)....wanna do it on the cheap and they see NW as a motivator / man manager type figure and although i've disagreed with you in the past i believe you're right and they do see NW as thier best signing....i predict another season of struggle and misery....but am prepared to see it through....the problem as i see it is ARE THE BOARD prepared to see it through as well ?

Its not so much that they are putting too much faith in warno as too much responsibility - the guy's a good manager but no miracle worker. if you don't give him the resources then it just reduces us to one of a dozen or more clubs who are in with an outside shout of doing a Blackpool.

With the current squad, we will not even be in the play-offs. The best would be mid-table.

Warnock is the man - i have no doubt - we just need a couple of DECENT signings to calm everyone down

We are not alone - almost all other clubs have yet to sign anyone. We (including me) need to be a little more patient and accept that we will also miss out on targets too

Keep the faith - i'm still excited!!

I reckon if we sign Bednar everyone will back Warnock again just give him time... Think he will get another quality midfielder, striker, right back and goalie then we can judge when we actually start playing football in 2 and half months

I for one, Trust Warnock. If means another year in this league then thats what we will do! I rather enjoy having a stable club tbh

Why all this threads that is questioning Warnocks ability even before the season has started.
Free spech and all that, but why over and over again raise these questions? Wasnt it stability we was looking for? In my view, we have now got; by all accounts, a decent manager on a fairly long contract.
I WILL also say that too many FANS are too fickled, and too concerned about us not going up next year. If we doesnt reach the prem, I know we are slowly getting there.
Not even Warnock can predict a promotion, even though he has it as a goal.

                          Just my view, Qblockpete.

I agree with you and let's see how we look at the start of the new season.

What ever happens I feel Neil will keep us in the top half and if not we'll do better as things stand as they are now.

I think the most important thing now for this club is for fans to get behind the team because it can play a big part in getting results.

I'm actually not being doom and gloom and not blaming Warnock at all.

I'm just saying by putting all your faith in the manager it indicates the board really feel that he himself can motivate a team no matter who is in that team.

                              If that makes sense..

It may well be a team spirit will be enough, you get the fans onside with a few good signings.

Patience will be needed, I'm not sure how much we have, plus in the long term even though this looks like a marriage made in heaven, I'm not sure for example if Warnock wanted say a Beattie for a million plus he would get it,(only an example) as nothing suggests we will spend huge amounts on anyone player.
