I wouldn't have picked Bent... I'd have taken Agbonlahor as he offers something completely different to any of the other strikers.
I'd have taken Gabby too, but he wasn't even in the reckoning, so that's irellevant. There is no way that both Crouch and Defoe are better than Bent. Not at all, which is why I would have taken Bent. I've never liked DB, but he's a natural goal scorer. Consistantly putting them away for five or so years now. You cannot argue that, no matter how hard you try.

I don't know the stats as I'm too lazy to look, but I'd imagine, over the last 5 seasons, Bent must have scored 20-30 odd goals (total) more than Rooney, Crouch and Defoe over that period.

Right so Copello is wrong and benny from football manager 2010 is right, oh ok well that puts that to bed, cheers.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Neither Vaughan or Strauss had/have good county record but had the mentality and ability to play at International level. Hick and Rampraskash broke record after record but couldn't make the step up. Bent IMO is no different. He'll score for fun when he is the big fish in the small pond but can't when it's not all about him.

My opinion won't change. He's had very little playing time for England to prove either of us right. He is a better striker than Defoe and Crouch. Heskey too, but Heskey does add something to the squad. Even Rooney has said he likes playing with Heskey.

Again, my arguement is that he deserves to be in the fianl 4. He's earned that chance.

I would play Rooney and Crouch

            Rooney (1st Choice)
Crouch (Best target man and scores himself)
Bent (Best available back up for Rooney Stats do not lie)
Defoe (Last 30 Minutes if needed)

Haha, don't give it the biggun on your PC, little boy. Getting all mouthy and insulting when others don't agree. I've told you already...got a problem, tell me and we'll meet up and sort it. Otherwise, stick to giving a normal opinion.

The CM joke is funny, and we all use it, but you try it on a personal level, just like every crittisism that comes from your mouth. You are my favourite cyber warrior, so at least that's something, I guess.

You know I wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to provide stats:

                Since 2005/06
Bent 83 goals in 194 matches (all competitions)
Crouch 79 goals in 244 matches (all competitions)
Defoe 84 goals in 214 matches (all competitions)
Rooney 125 goals in 260 matches (all competitions)

I haven't said anything against Bent. You can't argue with his scoring records in sometimes average sides.. Capello hasn't given him a proper chance to prove himself (same with Adam Johnson who I would definitely have picked).

I think and hope that the decision to pick 4 strikers means that we'll use Rooney as a lone striker.

I'd love to see a 4-2-3-1 with Barry and Gerrard holding and J.Cole, Lampard and Lennon behind Rooney.

Based on this assessment SPC, Sir Les and possibly Stan Bowles as well both fall into this catergory of player.

To add Defoe and Bent both score a goal every 175 minutes.

Rooney scores a goal every 174 minutes and Crouch every 199 minutes. Heskey scores a goal every 424 minutes.

I knew you would, hence the hint

So, Defoe has a better average than both Bent and Crouch. I'm surprised to see Rooney's was so good. Fairplay to him.

I still would take Bent over the other two.

I agree with that mate. Johnstons omission has not shocked me, but disappointed me.

Not a threat...More of a friendly invite for you to tell me I'm a mug to my face. I'm just suggesting you stop giving it the f**king biggun as it's wearing thin now. You have some good opinions, and some I find strange, but so does every one. Unlike the others, you choose to get gobby...not just to me, but to many others.

It's boring, so wind your neck in.

Bent had 24 prem goals - we should take a striker who is used to putting the ball in the back of the net

I cant understand anyone who thinks SWP should go - totally crap, waste of space. Take Adam Johnson ahead of him, since he moved to city he played basically every week. Wright-phillips has hardly played
