I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

You can't drop 2 'decent' CB's and 2 'decent' defensive CM's mate. That would be insane. No real backup in vital areas.

      For me...

Heskey/Bent (I'd prefer Bent to go)
      Baines (Utterly pooh)
Walcott (No end product, 95% of the time...Oh, but he got a hat-trick)
Upson (Dawson, Terry, Rio and King are ALL better)
Huddlestone (Carrick (marginally), Barry, Gerrard and Parker can all play the possition better)
Carragher (Turn coat and too slow)
Wright-Phillips (Milner, Lennon, A.Johnston, J.Cole and Gerrard can all play RM to better effect)

Cant believe Bent might not be going, what a ****ing joke. He's scored more since christmas than crouch, defoe and hesky put together. And thats for sunderland. But obviously strikers who score goals arent what we need...

Yeah because he has done so well 4 england everytime he is given a chance?

            And Heskey and Defoe have?

Crouch ain't good, but he gets goals for England.

Agreed, but that's not always the best way to look. Bent is a natural goal scorer. Only Rooney is better out of the 5. Bent is better than Crouch, Defoe and Heskey, and for that reason...he deserved to go.

I've never been a fan of Bents, but you can't argue his scoring record, wherever he goes.

Thanks Tom I was waiting for a guy with common sense to join in.

Don't give it all the high and mighty from behind your PC. This is why people can't take you seriously.

Where have I argued that? Can you honestly say, other that Rooney that Bent's scoring record isn't of the best?

But Rooneys goals have been replaced by those scored by Crouch. It`s a team game remember.

how much has he played? 1 game and 2 halfs? (i really dont know by the way)

end of the day, you should have him in the squad, forget about rooney what if he got injured first game? heskey and defoe up front? ? no way, you'd want the most natural goalscorer who is Bent.

End of the day, Bent scores more goals than the others (not rooney obviously) so its ridiculous to leave him out the squad, heskey cant even get in the starting 11 for villa.

Benny I am not getting all 'high and mighty'.

Lets not resort to moaning, if you don't like the way I conduct myself on this messageboard then that is your opinion, however some people like a straight forward no nonsense approach.

Bent has had his chances and for England he has looked very poor.
Rooney and Bent is not a good combo and Heskey brings the best out of our only really decent striker in rooney, thats my opinion!

Shut up Paul...we don't have a brain between us to think with 'common sense'

Why would you want a backup plan for Rooney?
