What exactly had DJ Campbell achieved in football before his 25th birthday? Not a lot. I'm not going to say he's achieved a lot now but his career has flourished later on in life. Clarke hasn't achieved a great deal either but with the right manager pulling the strings I'll wait till I write him off.

No it's not just you.
But people are more likely to take a minute out of their lives to type to make a comment about how "crap" they think someone is, or how unimpressed they are about stuff... than others are to say how they are ok with it, and willing to see how it goes.
It's the way these boards are... and if people want to chuck a few toys out of their prams a few times a week, then these are the places to do that, I suppose.
Opinions are fine. But it doesn't seem fine for some people to see an opinion about their opinion. (confusing!)
And my opinion is that too many fans are giving verdicts on players that they know very little about, and stating their opinion as fact.
And making sweeping statements about the "lack of ambition" and poor signings... when it is still May, and the play-offs for this season haven't even been sorted out yet!
As for Leon Clarke, he might be sh*t, or he might buck his ideas up and release the potential that saw Warnock take a "gamble" on him.
Hit and miss so far in his career, but could be a half decent player under the right manager. It happens.Final Version - Hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1z0UQ0eqRM

equally some people defy all evidence to assert that some players will magically change. If it has previously swum like a duck, looked like a duck and quacked, chances are its a duck. You may believe it will become a swan but those of us that see it on the evidence presented are the ones I'd trust to buy dinner.

Indeed some people might. And some people don't If that is meant to imply I have scoured the web to take a negative view of Clarke then you are wrong. I've seen him play a goodly number of times. Including his one outing for us incidently. But that is not really the point. In fact you have to watch him loitering up the top end with little threat or intent (but plenty of getting the team caught offside when they break again) to get the full Clarke picture. My very great regret is my experience may soon be shared with you all. He's woeful.

But Warnock doesn't agree, and thinks he might be an under-achiever who could have decent ability and the raw materials, if he sorts out his mind and attitude, more than anything else.
So I'll go with Warnock on this, and wait and see.
No offence.Final Version - Hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1z0UQ0eqRM
