All african teams are pony....Nigeria were once good, Egypt are half decent but not playing.

New Zeland will lose evry game about 5-0 after watching them the other day. I know they aint african but just wanted to put that in. Embarrising they are in the world cup.

Alonso is Class stanley I agree, very underated. Liverpools best player when there, much better then gerrard.

2 of the worlds top strikers in Villa & torres, being fed by Iniesta, Xavi & Alonso....takes the p*ss dont it

Totally disagree although I do rate Alonso he is a very different style of player. Both very important and both would be massively missed. I agree Gerrard is not on great form but when Alonso was at liverpool Gerrard was incredible Chris. He was a match winner on his own IMO.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I think Cameroon have the best chance of making the knockouts out of the African teams, although Denmark are a much improved team as of late. Ghana without a fit Essien will struggle and Ivory Coast are yet again in the group of death.

Uruguay could be a surprise package, decent defence and top quality strikers in Forlan, Suarez and Cavani. Plus they are always cynical b.astards grinding out results.

I think Nani could be impressive and he did really well for United after Christmas.

Mbai for Cameroon could be the big African breakthrough player.

Hamsik for Solvakia has been quality in Serie A this season, he'll be going to a big club after the World Cup I reckon. I think they'll reach the knockouts in their group and could even upset the Italians.

Ahh - yes. And therein is the point about Alonco being ubder-rated imo. Gerrard was indeed incredible - a match winner when Alonso was there. Any why? In my opinion because he had Alonso behind him holding the ball and releasing him to do what he does best. And no need for Stevie G (yuk) to track back all the time. This was my point really - he let's others play and shores up defences but his contribution is often overlooked

If they play like they played in the ANC or against South Korea then they won't get out of the group. Portugal and Brazil will be too strong for them. Ghana's group is tough and so is Nigeria.

I wouldn't be surprised if no African team gets out of the group.

Marek Hamsik is an excellent central midfielder.. seriously TOP TOP player.
Milos Krasic and Nikola Zigic from Serbia have the potential to do well.
Gourcuff is a brilliant young player as is Moussa Sissoko.
Veron's been performing brilliantly in South America and wouldn't surprise me to see him have a good tournament.
Salvador Cabanas from Paraguay would have been qwalla in thie tournament but got shot in the head a few months ago..
Edison Cavani is another good 'un.

Would you be in good form if you got a 15 year old pregnant and your wife was sleeping with Kris Commons?

I assume that comment about form and Commons etc is just a general question?!?!?!
Apparently I hear there's very nice house on the market in Scouse millionaire territory and someone is going to be unvieled as Jose's first big Madrid signing for £42M (also Cashley Vole to join)

WORLD CUP STAR FOR ME --- keep an eye out for a left back, goes by the name of TOSIC.

I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

I think Forlan will have a good world cup, maybe not an unknown but had a lot of doubters in this country a wee while ago!

all the usual suspects will be mentioned but hoping this world cup brings out a new face to all as often happens-one that no-one shouts about before hand.....thats what makes these competions so great!!
