Is this the same Taarabt who a 35 year old journeyman had in his pocket for 90 minutes not long ago?

For all the lurid bet wetting and verbose eulogies, please let's remember that Taarabt didn't exactly light up the Championship..........

Don't know why you have got such a downer on Taraabt nodge but the boy has got a unique talent and with the right management has got the ability to "light up" any football club. He fits the R's mould and tradition of a Bowles, Marsh, Stainrod or Wegerle.

OK he is not the new Mesiah but with the exception of perhaps Messi and Ronaldo neither are any other footballers on the planet. I want to be entertained when i watch football (as well as winning) and Adel is an entertainer. Simples.

Am I the only one who thought we looked a much better balanced team without him in the side in the latter games.

£2m is a good price however

Please tell me you're kidding!!! Even to mention those names in the same breath as Taarabt is heresy! Names that consistently did it at the very highest level of the game. DouDou is probably a more apt comparison at this point in time. Maybe Steve Burke if I'm generous.

Taarabt has undoubtedly got talent but is a "playground" footballer. Me, me, me, me, me, me, me. And I'll take the penalties AND I'll take my ball home with me if you don't like it, while you're at it, I'll wear the No 10 shirt too and flick you a w@nker sign for your trouble.

All this "entertainment" lark is fine if you're wanting to watch keepy uppies and Masters 6 a sides but in the real world of the unforgiving Championship, takes a lot more than a few tricks to survive and prosper into a "proper" footballer.

                BUT

I understand he is on the verge of signing. QPR and Spurs however remain some distance apart in agreeing a fee and sell on clauses.

No i am not kidding and I agree he probably would struggle to make the same impact in the Prem however when was the last time we at QPR had a player with the tricks and flair that AT has got. Not since the days of the greats I mentioned earlier I would suggest and I for one want my son to see someone who can beat three defenders and slot it home rather than some of the lazy primma donnas who have graced the Hoops in recent times.

He gets as frustrated as us (but that still does not give him the right to goad the fans) although the great Thierry Henry was not adverse to a bit of this at Highbury as I have witnessed on more than one occasion.

Nodge please don't fall into the "#### every signing we make camp" that seems to emerge every time we look as though we have captured a new player. Its not big or clever and just drags everyone down when we should all be elated.

I think every one would be happy for him to be here if "beat three defenders and slot it home", but he doesn't. He looses the ball and expects his team mates to get the ball back or knocks a fan in the upper loft out.

Yes he has tricks and flicks but if he was as good as he thinks he is, he would not be in discussions at W12 and I would take a team player over a show pony, all day long.

Sorry was it not Adel that scored the goal of the season......and did he beat 3,4 or 5 defenders before slotting.

Perhaps we should forget Taraabt and get back one of the Premiership "stars" which we had on loan cos they made such a huge impact? Ben Watson and Steven Reid should fit the bill???????????

Come on paul show some ambition ffs

On the other hand perhaps Neil has got it totally wrong and can't see what you and Nodge can. Oh well we could always have Paul Hart or Mick Harford back to manage they liked "team players"!!!!!.

I have ambition but we had Two Ball and finished mid table and who was his equivalent player in Newcastle's, West Brom's and Blackpool's team this season. It takes a team to get promoted and I really hope he never wears a hooped shirt again as his attitude stinks.

i Agree with old hoop on this one..Clint hill team player no thanks..shaun derry..team player no thanks..the most skillful player seen at loftus road for decades?? yes please.

okay he has his faults and he needs to grow up..but nearly all the high points of last season revolved around him.

another point is that he ties up opposition defenders when they often need 2 sometimes 3 to cover him. several times last season he was taken off with us in a winning position only for the oppostion to come back and score simply because they had more freedom to play from the back

I think we played better without the Premiership "stars" just as we played better as a team without Two Ball at the end of last season.
