Im not overly excited about Clarke i'll be honest but i kind of expected signings like this from NW. He obviously sees something in Clarke that he likes and that is good enough for me.
And for all those who are moaning that we aint spending big dough.....maybe just maybe NW is saving his money for the likes of Speroni and Ambrose.

I'm not saying for one second that I am running round delighted by the possibility of signing Clarke. I'm just saying that Warnock has to be given the time to build "his" squad on the budget that he is given. If the Mittals will only give him £5 to build a squad then there is little he can do about.

If come September 1st we haven't signed one player worth more than a few bob then we can assume that Warnock wasn't supported in the transfer market. If however when the window closes and he has brought in a Hooper or a Maynard then Clarke will be purely for cover. I'd rather wait and see then jump on the negative bandwagon and think that its all doom and gloom. The season hasn't even finished yet and already people are talking like they are ready to slit their wrists.

I think we all need to wait and see exactly who comes in and who leaves over the next few months before we depress ourselves more than we need to.

Oh dear what a poor signing, Mackie I thought was a good start as a cheap signing and I'm looking forward to watching him play but Leon Clarke is not very inspiring.

Our forward line looked more potent when Blackstock and Nygaard was at the club, which is quite concerning.

Still its a long summer ahead and I'm still expecting the signing of 2 proper strikers otherwise we will not be getting near the Play Offs

Good post, a bit of sense on the subject.

Not exactly excited by Clarke... but for those who say he was rubbish for us before, am I right in thinking he played ONE game for us back then? Away at Leeds.
We must have taken a fair few up there that day for so many to say that.
              Hell of a turn-out.

Like I said, not excited by this... not even happy with it.
And I also suspect that he's a freebie who could be used purely as back-up. But it is still May, and I suspect that he is not the last signing we'll make up front.

If he was, I'd be hanging myself from the nearest lamp post too, along with most others on here who are sending their season tickets back already!

Leeds had Cresswell, Hulse, Blake and Healy that day in their squad - wouldn't mind that as 4 playing for us.

14 weeks till the transfer window closes so as you say lets wait and see.

Fact is we knew he was bad before he joined last time, he did have a bad outing (I was there), he was sent off to Argyle where it went worse and thence to Wed where he has slid even further (he scored against us on route but no hiding the fact).

His touch on the ball is shocking. A fattie who is what we used to call a goal hanger in the playground. I was gobsmacked when I learned he'd scored against Palace. But I think those were 2 of less than 10 goals for him the whoile year weren't they. Strike rate and he gets reasonable attacks from the rest of the team pulled up for offside as he never tracks back. He is rubbish. Honest. If you haven't seen him I can only say I am sorry you will now have to do so whilst he's in hoops.

Try Wikipedia, I think that's how many fans judge players.

Maybe Clarke is being signed as the lump to put himself about in the area like Alan Lee does for Palace.

So far QPR have signed mackie (apparently for less than 500K) and possibly Hill and Clarke on free transfers.

This should leave plenty of funds to buy Taarabt, Hooper, Ambrose, Clyne and Speroni.

Yes, I agree, that was absolutely stupid. I was wondering how he managed to get injured after scoring, what has to be said, was a very well taken goal.

Let's wait and see who else comes in before we start pressing the panic button.

As said before we wanted a manager in who would choose his own signing's, now we have one every one is going nuts after 2/3 signing

                              Chill everybody chill
