    by Daniel Jones

DARREN Ambrose will be sold to Queens Park Rangers next week unless the consortium trying to rescue Crystal Palace agree to fund the club through the summer.

The Advertiser understands that former manager Neil Warnock has tabled an offer of £750,000 to prize the Eagles top scorer away from Selhurst Park.

And with no money to pay May’s wages Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle will be forced to sanction the transfer unless CPFC 2010 tell him otherwise.

Guilfoyle revealed at a question and answer session with the club’s fans yesterday that the consortium - headed by Eagles fans Steve Parish and Martin Long - are unwilling to finance the club until they know a company voluntary agreement will be passed by the club’s creditors.

Well £750k's worth but he does score goals!

Don't rate him that much but could do a job.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Same must be true of all Palace players must it not. 7 and a half sounds pretty cheap to me. Thought he'd be more. Or Perhaps Colin is taking the pish. Though tbh I'd rather it was spent elsewhere as far as a striker is concerned. I have a sneaky feeling he just had a good year.

If this is true it does show one thing is running to form - Warnock has previously liked to get all his deals done v early in the close season. He hasn't in the past hung on for anyone but instead changed target.

We should go for Clyne aswell if they are in that much s.hit. £1.75m for Ambrose and Clyne would be good business.

Better than Rowlands and would fill his boots nicely. Scores a lot more and also is less injury prone - at least he will play 30+ games a season! A steal at £750k.

Why pay 1M for Clyne when the Administrator accepted a bid from Wolves of around £300-400k in January?

                      Stanley75,

I see what you mean, afterall he had a storming 2009/10 with Palace, but didn't do so well with Charlton in 2008/9, although he was quite good in previous seasons with them.

He was also quite good at Ipswich and Newcastle before that.

However, he only joined Palace last summer on a 2 year deal, so I would not even offer £750k for him, but instead offer Palace £1M for both Clyne and Ambrose.

IF that is right, and I stress the IF, then why have we bid double for Darren Ambrose?

If Clyne is £400k, Ambrose should be no more so we should be looking to pick the pair up for under £1m, but that article says differently..

utter rubbish. Please do some research at least mate. He scored almost as many this season as he's done in 9 years previous. Lazy player.

                          Rowlands is definately better.

I think Rowlands age and the fact he has had 2 serious injuries in the last 2 years alone will probably put pay to that statement.
