Not wanting to start a messageboard war - but it does seem that most of the negativity towards mackie - and other signings we have had, has come from posters on this board.
Maybe we should sack Neil warnock and put most of the posters on this board in charge.
Let's sign Beattie - a crock - on big wages that would work.
Managers build teams and sometimes some signings will seem strange.Plus, we still have to prove to possible signings out there - that the QPR of the past few years has gone-or ne next manager of QPR will Mr W.ikipedia.

It always makes me chuckle when players are signed, and people will state that have watched them a couple of times on TV...for about 2 mins...and base an opinion on that.
I cannot possibly comment on Macke - as I have never seen him play for 90 mins...

Ok fair enough Spence however I did watch the crucial palace survival game and Clint Hill was shocking. I know its only 90mins but I have seen Bob Malcolm move quicker. I will be happy if he is cover for centre back but if he is played as a left back then we have huge concerns.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Do you think that players are still wary of us as a club?
I also remember Faurlin for first couple of months,if opposing fans had been watching the odd game, they would probably have thought he was a crap player..(By the way - wasn't having a pop at you - in general really...)

Warnock managed to get improved performances from Taarabt, so who knows how Mackie will turn out.
The fact he has pace and chases everything for 90 mins will help him fit into Warnock's game plan.
Let's imagine that Warnock opts for a 4-3-3 formation that includes Mackie, a target man (Hulse or Henderson) and Simpson.
Even if he only scores 10 a season, he could be a valuable player for QPR, as long as the other two score about 12-15 each. Two scoring midfielders i.e. Buzsaky & Ambrose and QPR will have five players in the side that can score 50+ goals between them.
I also agree with the comment that at £500K, this signing leaves Warnock with a good amount to spend on his other two or three strikers (presuming he has a transfer budget of around £7-10M).

With this endorsement from the Gaffer, I'm more than happy to give the bloke a chance.
"He is an exciting player who I have always liked," Warnock told the club's official website. "He is not the finished article yet by any means but he has got pace, power and enthusiasm - and his work rate is second to none.
"I think he can do a job up front. I have seen him as a lone ranger up the middle and wide on either flank.
"Whatever job you ask him to do you know what you are going to get from him. He is a 100-per-center and that is why the crowd like him, because he gives you everything."

It's quotes like that which confirm my opinion of both player and manager.
With Mackie, this is exactly how I believe him to be. I've said this on various other threads.
With Warnock, it goes to show he's buying people he's admired for more than 5 minutes. Players who he knows he can improve. He's no mug, so let's leave him to build his team.Your mum would love me...
