I renewed my st on the fact that we have NW thats why i didn't wait for any signings, i trust him far more than any manager we have had, plus the fat orange one has been moved away from the football side and club.

    Onwards and upwards with Neil.
    They seek him here.................

Someone said you only get "proper" managers in the Prem. Don't agree-I think you can get proper Managers at any level, I would say in the Prem you get "top" Managers. Hey, its all just words isnt it?
What I am really saying is we should trust NW, who I believe is trying to build a team/squad, rather than just signing random players as we have done in the recent past.
As regards signings, there is no guarantee that any player at any club will be a success, even if he cost millions. How many expensive signings did it take to get Newcastle relegated? Liverpool have spent hundreds of millions, but are going backwards.
Down the years I have seen us spend a lot of money on strikers - Hateley, Sheron, Spencer etc, none of whom could be described as a success (Hateley could be described as a c**t, obviously )
OK Spencer was good initially. The point is, signings sometimes work only as part of the overall plan. Helguson splits opinion on here, but bottom line is, he seems to suit Watford, and they suit him.
So, I want people to trust NW at the moment. Don't moan "he is crap" about players you know nothing about, equally don't go overboard in praise if we sign a "name" striker. The unknown may be a good buy, the "star" may not work in our side.
Give Warnock the pre-season, give him 10 games at the start of the season, and then we can start to formulate a decent opinion.
And before somebody jumps all over that, no, I am not saying that if we arent doing well after 10 games we should "do a Flabio"

Please back these wise words with some evidence,ie seen him play, watched Plymouth a lot or of course you are recognised in the world of football as a better judge of a player than Mr Warnock
            FFS
For the record I have seen him play in our home and away games this season and thought he was decent.Good luck Jamie and please God i hope you dont read this messageboard
Yes Matthew is a bit of a comedy character. Heres a man who likes to slate a players performance after a bad result based on the commentary of QPR World from the comfort of his arm chair.

You know and I know the only way judge a players ability is to watch them live at a game not look up their wikipedia stats.

It actually doesn't even sound like he has ever seen Mackie play, unbelievable to think someone can write a player off just like that.

What do we want from a "proper manager"?

Passion, belief, knowledge, experience, luck, expertise, respect of and for the fans and playing staff, fortitude, abilty to motivate, trust, honesty, integrity,
              commitment, foresight, tenacity and personality.

For me Mr Warnock ticks every single box.

In Warnock we Trust in big writing!!!!

You know I have often thought about this and I reckon a lot of footballers do wade through their clubs MB or on the other hand avoid them completely.

Todays footballers are part of a generation where the internet is accessible to all. After good performance for example I can't see any reason why a player wouldn't want to read his teams MB's to see what the fans have to say. Match reports by fans are probably more valid than a write up in the NOTW and we all know how much footballers like to read about themselves in the papers.

I wouldn't be surprised as well to hear that clubs prep their players nowadays to avoid internet forums as they could end up being a distraction to their game.

On the other hand - how many proper managers have motivated their team by putting a newspaper article on the dressing room wall and saying "read that, then go out and prove them wrong"?
Neil could take a lap top in the dressing room, click on any thread about his squad or an individual and do the same

You laugh but look at it from the other side of the fence your playing against whoever the following week. Out of curiosity would you look at another teams MB to assess the mood amongst the fans towards players, management & their board. It would give you a good idea what you are coming up against the following week, what atmosphere you might expect, what players are low on confidence etc.

Not saying it can be used for tactics but the internet shouldn't be dismissed as irrelevant in the world of professional football.

I agree - the laugh was more aimed at the irony of how mb abuse could actually prove to be a positive.

Youre right, it was 20 in all competitions (15 league goals). Sign him up and we'll have our own 20-a-season man.

we didnt score nearly enough from midfield last year so having Mackie in a wide position and Ambose, and fingers crossed Taarabt back, scoring goals from midfield should not be a problem next season, and 2 decent srikers up front we could be in for an exciting season. As for W12 comments,i disagree(again),this armchair stupidity is tiresome at this stage,he is either too stupid to understand i dont live in the uk or just too stubbern, buts he makes the same comments over and over again, himself and his good buddie(Youvebeenrangered).like peas in a pod.At least i can debate the agruement with Merryploughboy as he is somewhat intelligent, and doesnt insult in the process.
