    Here's a thought.

This is Neil Warnocks first pre season...soon to be followd by his first season. He has just made his first signing. How about we watch and see what happens...maybe give him to Christmas..if you can.If he hasn't got us promotoion to the Champions league by Christmas...yes..by all means slaughter the guy.

Personally i think he should have made a move fpr fabregas who know looks like he is off to Barcelona.

He got relegated via unfortunate circumstances with the whole Tevez affair. He got a very average Palace side to the playoffs after taking over when they were in the bottom 3. He would have probably done the same this season if administrators hadn't screwed him. He took us from relegation to comfortably clear in mid-table. He kept Sheff Utd in the mix every year with no transfer funds, other than James Beattie (correct me if I'm wrong?)

He's also had success in the lower divisions. He takes all the flack for his team. He won't stand for lack of effort. He gains his players respect. That's the reason.

Wikipedia is a joke. It shows some 'stats' but doesn't paint the whole picture.

People often mistake "proper manager" simply for an "old skool manager" which Warnock is.

As said, I rate Mackie. If I'm proven wrong, I'll begrudgingly hole my hands up. I rated Ramage, and he came good when played at CB. I never rated Ageymang, not even during his purple patch. I never rated Stewart, even as POTY...he still made too many mistakes. I'm not saying I'm the best judge of footballing ability, but I don't just say things because of YouTube and Wikipedia. I don't think I'm SAR just because I got QPR promoted on Football Manager. If I see something in a player, I'll say so. It's easy to say 'he's carp...he only got 2 goals in 25 years' then when proven wrong, to come out with 'I'm please he's defied me'

I'm saying he's a very good player. If he flops, I'm sure I'll get all the 'I told you so' BS from all those hoping he fails. I stuck my neck on the line with NW, and he has so far repaid my faith by installing a winning mentality within the side.

Why is it that every year...we get over excited at rumoured signings? We all went mad with excitement when we thought Beattie and Cousins were coming. They Didn't. We all got depressed when we though Folan and Iwelumo were on their way. Thjey weren't. We're going to be linked with many more signings that all you football guru's feel are 'average at best' and just as many of the Robert Korens and Gareth Bale's who in reality...back on earth, we don't really have a chance of signing.

Again...this crazy, insane idea I have...Let's wait until the season starts, or even when the window closes and see what we have then.
          Your mum would love me...

Doesn't everyone realise that although Wikipedia can be good, it is not allways correct, it gains it's information from members of the public like you or I and can be edited at any time by anyone - it's what it is well known for, so up to date info may not have been entered or a child on their computer may have copied it from somewhere else also not true.

            It's just something to remember.

Every manager gets it wrong with some players they bring in,im sure NW did at Sheff u and Palace as well, that doesnt want them a bad manager.I dont agree with the Mackie signing if truth be told,i think he is crap, but thats just me being honest,i hope im wrong about him.Mcanuff is a better player,so if he is confirmed i will be happier and im sure Speroni and hopefully Hooper(or a good similiar striker) will follow.

Please back these wise words with some evidence,ie seen him play, watched Plymouth a lot or of course you are recognised in the world of football as a better judge of a player than Mr Warnock

A proper manager imo is someone who has control over everything, finance, players ins and outs, coaching, has his own backroom team. Then when you have a manager with full control he takes responsibility for everything. When the manager is hindered by not having full control then he is on the slippery slope. NW is a good manager, not someone I particularly wanted at the start but we have him and I like what I see. Given the full control at QPR he will turn us into a decent competitive side who will be challenging for promotion next term.

To the Merry Ploughboy:Are you saying im not allowed express my honest opinion on this board or would you prefer me to say something like "great signing, pity we didnt give him a 6 year contract, promotion here we come" just to keep you and youbeenrangered and w12 happy, sorry i will never do that as this is an OPINION board NOT a "lets make friends board".For the record i did say i hope im wrong on his signing and the 4 year contract, and in sure Mackie doesnt read these type of boards and if he did(at Plymouth)he wouldnt any more as they slated him.I think and am sure we will get good players in this summer so things are looking up.

what?...Everyone knows we need a goalscoring striker,18 goals in 4 odd years is a very poor return for a striker. If he is being brought in as a midfielder/winger then maybe he could do a job but not as a striker.
