People keep saying"we have a proper manager now, trust him" in REALLY big writting, just wondered what makes NW a proper manager,iv had a look at his wikipedia and he won promotion to the premier league with Sheff Utd before being relagated the year after, got Palace to a play off semi final, does that make him a "proper manager"?.......just wondered

Classic. Wikipedia is your fountain?
He got relegated via unfortunate circumstances with the whole Tevez affair. He got a very average Palace side to the playoffs after taking over when they were in the bottom 3. He would have probably done the same this season if administrators hadn't screwed him. He took us from relegation to comfortably clear in mid-table. He kept Sheff Utd in the mix every year with no transfer funds, other than James Beattie (correct me if I'm wrong?)
He's also had success in the lower divisions. He takes all the flack for his team. He won't stand for lack of effort. He gains his players respect. That's the reason.
Wikipedia is a joke. It shows some 'stats' but doesn't paint the whole picture.Your mum would love me...

Is that why you've got a very average player as your avatar as well mate? Because Wikipedia tells you he had a good season, and your pal told you he's signed? What did Ambrose do before Palace? Who was the manager he performed so well under? NW made Danny Webber look a world beater.Your mum would love me...

thats a good answer ben,i simply referred to Wikipedia for imfo (my fountain?),for what is is worth i agree with your answer and that obviously is YOUR definition of a "proper manager",ie proper means a good manager. As for Ambrose,i rate him as a player, and YES i reckon he will sign for us.Last edited by Rebel R's; 19-05-2010, 01:02 AM.

I have always believed this by the way. I assure you, Matthew, I wanted him before Palace got him. He has a knack of getting the best from players. Danns was a player who never reached his potential until NW showed up. Ambrose scored 20 odd goals this season (wiki says 15, but I'm sure it was more?) which isn't too far shy of how many he scored in 9 years beforehand.
I do trust his judgement and I also believe he's the man we've needed for a few years. If he'd taken over at the start, and Flabbio stayed out of affairs, I believe we'd have been a Prem side already. Not fact as it's impossible to prove, but that's what I genuinely believe.Your mum would love me...

a proper manager is a refrence to somebody who we all believe is of a quility we have been looking for since olly left-that has a passion for the teams he is in charge of....a proper manager in the sense that we believe can take us on to the next level and is not part of some playboys fantasy football team....a proper manager who will refuse to lie down when the chips are against us....PRIDE OF LONDON.

Benny, no disputing managers at this level have done far better than warnock.
Don't get me wrong love his passion, but he has only got Sheffield united promoted once, someone Like Dowie had a far better recordALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Warnock is a proper manager in that he has a free reign to make whatever decisions he wants and is allowed to love and die by them.
All the predessors for god knows how long had paladini buying the players, briatore picking the team etc.. It just wasn't right. Allow warnock to get on with the job and back him all the way. He's no mug.

Hahahahhahaha says it all clueless Pete, the Dowie example is really pointless as well.
As for Priskin I think Warnock managed to get a lot more out of him than Roy Keane this season.

"proper" managers manage in the Prem and other top leagues. We don't get proper managers in the CCC. He is average, bur as good as we are likely to get at the moment.

Sounds like people are now doubting Warnock?
Lets not let the Mackie signing upset us, on average if Warnock buys 7 players we are you bound to have 1 wilde card player, who knows he might actually do really well, also lets wait and see who's leaving QPR
