  • Mackin - a 4 year contract?

I hope this is not Agymang all over again. Signing a striker who has scored 7 goals in his previous season from a struggling team. He plays well for the first few games and then we're stuck with him for the next 4 years!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

This is why myself, w12, paladinoooo , Jeffro and Terry have all been saying that GP has to go. I wonder if this has changed some of you GP fans? I will say I used to be a fan of his but I realised eventually that he is bad for our football club and it seems he still has the important job of offering very long contracts without learning from past mistakes.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Agreed, I would had though 2 years was long enough, I guess Paladini didn't learn anything from Agyemang...

Did Paladini sign him then or deal with the contract have I missed that bit?

2 1/2 year contract as most should have sufficed I reckon

FFS!!! This pisses me off, no offence hammersmith but none of us really know much about the kid.

Ok im with everyone else on the agyemang and fitz hall front, but give the lad a chance, that 4 year contract may be valuable if he hits some good form and has bigger teams sniffing around.

Clearly Warnock is confident in his ability and knows he could go on to bigger and better things, hence the leverage of a long contract should he hit that form and should those bigger clubs come in for him..

Finally this isnt a old boy looking for a last pay day, this contract covers what you would hope to be his best years in football.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Do you even know what you're on about?

I'm not trying to start a row, but you thinking you've found some common footing with these guys isn't a reason to speculate. I very much doubt GP had any say in this, so I'm intreagued to know why you felt you had to bring him in.

Sure, you want him to move on...so do many, but blaming him for Mackie's contract isn't a good thing. It sounds like desperation in finding more reasons.

For what it's worth, I still couldn't give a monkeys if he stays or goes...As long as he has no involvement in transfers, he can't ruin team affairs.

Do you honestly think NW would be here if he didn't have control?

            No...neither do I.

4 years is a long time though... 2 years was enough to see how he goes.

No offence mate but you havent a clue.

So say he comes down on a two year deal, has a stormer and begins to inhance a already decent reputation.

What then, he has one year left and we find ourselves in a situtation like leeds have with beckford!??

When I was told we'd signed him my first question as - "How long's the deal?"

When I heard 4 years my first thought was "Paladini"

Matters not to me how good he is, may become etc as all that is levelled out by how bad he may be, how he may do a "Richard Ord" etc

What matters to me is that this gives me all the signals that nothing much seems to have really changed in the world of QPR and how they do their transfer deals.
Many will have been holding off on ST renewals to see what players we get -- I'm now in two minds due to the nature of how we've signed our first one. If anyone tells me he's with Base Soccer I think I'll just give it all up.

                          4 more years....
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

I'm so glad to see the fans are supporting him before he's played...And you lot talk about QPR needing to change.

It needs to start with our 'support'

                            I love this club.
