Plus in the seventies you could prob pick around 10 England teams and all of em would be good.

Didn't see Marshy play for the Hoops but was brought up with Stan. A talent that would fit in to any era, especially today. He would have made millions that is for sure and probably lost it too.
Adel isn't fit to tie his boots yet but who knows he might just step up a few rungs. Stan had his moments that is for sure but that goes hand in hand with that type of player.
To compare the two is difficult but the main difference is that Stan scored plenty and assisted many has well.
Stan Bowles a genius of W12I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

Our proud history has been built on skillful cult players, ones who break the mould, who don't follow the rule book, why do you feel we have a section of our support who struggle to accept Adel for who he is.

Fans will still have given stick to Adel in the Bowles or marsh era, as Adel would have fraustrated then as well as now. They seek him here.................

What we witness when we see certain sections of our supporters jeering Adel, is the impatient aspect of the new national British character kicking in.
Bowles wasn't outstanding in every game he played, nor Marsh, who had just vacated the club before I saw my first live match, but when Stan the man was on song, he was ours, and ours alone, and we were proud of that fact.
There's no doubt in my mind though, the post-Thatcher modern day Brits would have given Stan the same treatment meted out to Taraabt, whenever the great man had an off-day.

I think people are missing the point a little here, Adel is a mere youngster and of course he isnt up to Stan or Rodneys mark but they both had to start somewhere and Rodneys main years at Rangers were in Div 2 and 3 not the top division, where indeed he struggled at Man City hence why Stan edges it for me.
Adel if he keeps his head down and works hard with a decent manager could well become a legend...............somewhere.........probably not Rangers but he has the talent to do so somewhere.
Fans wise we have become detached from the modern footballer due to the outrageous wages these days and therefore we are far more demanding as people.
The 70's and 80's were far more accomodating to the Adel style of footballer, where they weren't expected to track back and work like they are today, so in answer to the question, yes I think he would have flourished in their era.
