Plymouth fans have mixed feelings. A lot rate him. I rate him and I'll stick by that.
Pete, you didn't know who he was. You didn't know who Buzz was either and you can't deny that. Anyway, I'll be at yours about 12.30-ish. Lee ain't around until later.
Mackie has played in a dire Argyle side this year so it is difficult to judge his goal return this season. He works his nuts off and may well flourish with better players around him. When he was at Exeter although it was the Conference he certainly knew where the net was so he does have ability in front of goal.
It is all well and good going out and signing established players but they come at a price and sometimes money doesn't get what you hope for.
If QPR had signed Charlie Adam or Charlie Austin, the 20 goal striker for Swindon who was signed from Poole Town last summer I somehow doubt their signings would have been greeted with joy but the managers that signed those two players believed in them and they delivered.
Maybe just maybe Mackie would deliver the same for Warnock that Adam and Austin delivered for Holloway and Wilson.
Noooo, i need to hear some more news if we are signing McAnuff, hes my man
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
I. want. Hooper. I really want Hooper. I really, really want Hooper.
Theres A Word For That

Spurs are currently in a transitory phase. Club Secretary going to Man U and being replaced by the one from West Brom over the summer. Board of Directors abroad working on new stadium deals. Football side now closed for World Cup/Summer. Skeleton staff dealing with medical bits and pieces.
If I hear anything and can post anything that will not scupper bits and pieces, I will.
I'm not giving him stick for shooting. There were games last season where our only hope of scoring came from Adel. I do worry about the floodlight bulbs though.
He's a wonderful talent, and although his scoring record is poor, it's misleading. If he was off to another team, and the fans on their messageboards looked up his goal record on Wikipedia and saw 7 goals for the season... they'd be less than impressed.
Mackie could be the same. He's not a penalty box striker. He has real power and pace, and that creates space for others.
And Warnock turned Darren Ambrose from a player who scored zero goals in the season before last, and 13 goals in 5 years before he rolled up at Palace...into a midfielder who scored 20 goals this season, because he used his attributes properly.
Mackie could be great, could be sh*t, could be average. I dunno. But while everyone is entitled to their opinion about anything on here... I'm getting a bit tired of reading verdicts on players when there is very little to base it on, other than goal stats.
I have no real issue about signing Mackie, but all tgis talk about creating chances for others does concern me. This is because QPR don't have the striker to finish off the chances.
Between them, Taarabt, Routledge & Buzasky created more than 50 good chances during the season that were missed. I don't see much point in buying players to create chances without buying the centre forward(s) who will convert them.
