  • The transfer of Elvijs Putnins and Paladini's role.

I seem to remember this from a while ago and wondered if anyone can shed any light on it.

It was linked with the Gorrks Transfer ( They are both Latvian)

Apparently the reason being that the Gorkks transfer took so long was due to Paladini wanting it to go through Base soccer, but Kasper having His own father as his agent meant that there was no money to be made.

This is where Putnins comes into it, being latvian and known by Kaspers agent, his father; Paladini did the Gorrks deal with no fee's yet insisted if Gorrks transfer was "fee free" then the signing of an unknown Latvian keeper would be the one to earn the bucks from.....

So hence QPR end up with a really uneeded young Keeper whom came by recommendation of Korrks father, the agent..

All a little fishy for me....
Anyone care to enlighten as to why

    a) Gorrks transfer took so long
    b) Why we sign a no body Latvian (eh hmm) keeper by recommendation of Gorrks father.

    Anyone.

i thought the gorrks deal took so long because they took us to the fa over "tapping up the player" or something along the lines of that.

Yes that was going on at the time but it dragged out for a lot longer than it should have.
Still cant work out why we signed Putnins.

Could it be that he is very young and has potential?

Possible answer Pete, though at the time we were sufficient in our Keeper count.
Anyone have info on the deal bringing Putnins to the club?
