  • Last weekend of the Early Bird offer and still no news re signings.

This weekend is the last one before the early bird season ticket offer ends and I would have expected the club to make some kind of announcement re their prospective buys rather than just rumours on here or other sites.
It's as if they want to make sure when and if they announce good players that they will be getting more money from the fans rather than announce before and more buy at cheaper prices.
Wouldn't surprise me but I hope if using this logic then we will get someone good.

Season is barely over a fortnight. With the best will in the world it's tough to organise a big name buy just in time for the early birds.

transfer window not open yet so no announcements can be made yet,but 4 already agreed(everyone knows about Hill and Mackie),the other two are much better believe me.

Great, but however good the rumour is it's still only a rumour until posted up on the main site as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not knocking you or anyone that is itk etc but there are are a lot of fans who do not read MBs and only look at facts on the main site and these are the ones who could be buying tickets and will feel if they had known they would have bought earlier.
I know it's not yet the transfer window but some of you seem to know, so the club must, it's communication again between club and fans.

Season is only just over and we have the world cup, too early to do anything yet IMO

They should have at least put back the Early bird offer until Mid June then at least to give people a better idea.

              That is not strictly true.

Contracted players can be signed now if a fee is being paid.

Out of contract players can sign agreements to join, as Ramage and Cerny did two seasons ago.

Middlesbro have agreed a deal to sign Halliday from Livingston.

One way of selling STs is to announce the names of players who have signed or agreed to sign deals for the following season.

IMO, QPR should not have had the EB finishing so soon. I am sure it used to run until the end of May, if not later, about 15 years ago.

Thanks Stan, finally someone who can see where I'm coming from, oh and for anyone who wonders, I got my ST last week.

Maybe they are not announcing signings for a reason, once the earlybird has finished and signings are announced the sales will increase bringing in more money?

The transfer merry go round never starts until mid July and certanly in World Cup year it will be even more quiet this time of year.
Try and be patient and believe in Neil Warnock.

I suppose you also have to assume , that Mr Warnock has more than...4-5 targets. He must have a list of at least 10-15 players he wants-knowing full well that he will get knocked back on at least 8-10....ending up getting the 5-6 players he needs...( Ihave only used the numbers as an example....as i have no idea how many players he is looking for, but for sure he has more than lets say...i left back in mind,)

Reality is unless a totally free agent, why buy anyone now?

Players contracts end 1st July or get paid up to that time, so the original poster wants us to pay the player twice, so it gets us excited about season ticket sales?

Lets face it, some of us renew every season no matter what and anyone with any nouse will know that the first wave of ST sales will be to us. Then the next step is to make some signings that will encourage those 'thinking about it'. There are some who for whatever reason can not or do not buy ST's and no matter who we buy they won't get one but will pick and choose games. So at present we are at stage 1.
