It's only because Pete hadn't heard of him. He didn't even know who Jobi McAnuff was when I called him. I swear on my life.
Mackie is a very good player, that's all I can say. I can't make you all believe me, so we'll have to wait and see. Oh, and Pete hadn't heard of Buzz either by the way. He told me the rumour on the boat en route to Charlton just before he signed. Didn't have a clue so I bought up Buzz's goal against us in that midweek fixture. It just goes to show...just because you've not heard of them, doesn't mean their no good ;)
So 8 goals isn't bad. What one of our wingers scored that many goals this season, Ephraim, Cook, no thought not. Strikers, Simpson only.
Also Jobi McAnuff is a like for like replacement for Routledge. Fast, skillful and can play on both wings, only difference is his delivery is better.
Both of these players are better than what we have, without a doubt.
Some peoples opinions are deluded, signing players from lower teams is a good way to go. They will be hungry for success, much rather them then ex-Prem players looking for one last pay day. Looking @ youngsters in the lower leagues is a step in the right direction for me, Wolves for instance signed Ebanks Blake, Keogh, Iwelumo all from lesser teams, got promoted.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.
With all due respect how often have you seen the lad play live to make a fair assessment on his ability as a footballer.
We can all look at Wikipedia.
What a stupid comment. You know zip about running a football club and getting players in.
1)A manager will sit at his desk and look at possible signings.Rather than scout these players, he will check wickpedia and then ask the Flying Cow for his opinion, relating to the stats before him
2) If that fails, he will then open his new version of FIFA football , sign that player and just watch how he develops for one season....which will probably take about 1 week of constant playing.
3) Failing both of the above - he will then scour the messageboards and take note of what fans really think.Ah...Maynard, never heard of him.Hooper, blimey is he any good, i never knew untill i read WATRBs comments.
Sick of hearing he's not good enough...we could do better...doesn't set the world alight...look at his record !!!
FFS Look at the likes of Blackpool (forget Holloway for a minute) . How many of their players would you really want to see us sign ...I'm guessing Charlie adam and thats it.
Yet they've shown that its the manager that gets the best out of less high profile players.
I'm fed up of seeing underperforming , over paid 'so called superstars' who think they're billy big b'''''ks !!!
I'm gonna trust Warnock with HIS players , support my team , ignore the so called experts on this board and .... Enjoy the ride !!!
U RRRR'S
spot on. A lot of prem teams wouldnt want half of fulhams players but theyve performed OUSTANDINGLY as a TEAM with the RIGHT MANAGER WHO KNOWS HIS ONIONS. And progressed further than the mighty liverpool who have the likes of gerrard an torres!!! GET A GRIP FFS

I agree that for a winger that is good.
Problem is, all those saying he is good, never ever stated he was a winger. If they had, many of us who have never heard of him would not have been so critical.
My case against Mackie was built on the fact that he was being billed as QPR's answer to the goalscoring problems. He is not, but a good finisher could be.
So the next time someone posts on here that QPR are interested in or have bid for so and so, it would be helpful if they could state his position.

That's because he is not a winger. He's a striker who can play wide...preferably outside a striker. A bit like Vine, but better. Why people keep saying he's a winger is beyond me.
