That's very true and having ethics has wan us sod all, whereas other teams that do what ever it takes to win, has won lots of stars.

If Ferdinand misses out due to having a dodgy top lip our CB pairing will No caps playing alongside No knees.

          Interesting reading.

Ledley King didn't play more than 4 league games in a row all season and Ferdinand has been plagued by injuries. Like the man or not, Terry is England's most important player at the back so this is not good news.

                  gotcha - ethics.

So, if it’s about Ethics, we can’t have any players playing for us who have any sort of indiscretions.

So, but that logic, we can lose the following people:

Terry – Cheating on his missus

Ferdinand – Missing drugs test, plus various driving bans.

Ashley Cole – Cheating on his missus

Gerrard – Night club altercations, plus a whole lot more if the rumours are true…

Rooney – Cheating on his missus with old prostitutes

Lampard – Cheating on his missus

                  Ledley King – Common Assault

Jermaine Defoe – Cheating on his missus

                  Jamie Carragher – Common Assault

Glen Johnson – Theft / Fraud

so, who would you like turning out for us in South Africa?

Perhaps it was a 'training accident' by a non-English teammate who is a friend of Bridge. Maybe the assailant didn't want to risk losing the title, but doesn't care about England's WC bid and was just biding his time to exact revenge.

Seriously though, this could be a huge blow to England, especialy if Ferdinand is injured too. The centre half pairing could be Carragher and King, who has dodgy knees. Not promising against the World's elite strikers.

England are cursed. Seriously why does a injury happen before a massive tournament? :S

Really. I really cant see what people see in him. He has no pace at all.

He doesn't need pace. he's got great positional sense and a never-say-die attitude - lucky that you weren't around when Bobby Moore was playing eh?

the best centre half partnerships have the no-nonsense hoof-it one, and the more cultured pass the ball out of defence one (see: Terry & Rio; Terry & Carvalho, Rio & Vidic for pertinent examples...)

but if it's pace you're after, we can always stick Walcott at centre back?

Its not all about pace. Great in the air and on the deck. Reads the game better than most. A leader and organise. Just pure quality

having pace is not necessarily a prerequisite of a centre back, but it can be a bonus!
