      Gerrard
      Barry
      Lampard
      Walcott
      Heskey
      Rooney
I'd take you up on that bet!

Only because Lennon would start ahead of Walcott.
Apart from that, I think you might be right.

Personally would have Crouch over Heskey, but I'm not Fablaaah.

Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry

        Midfielders
Gareth Barry (Parker), Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Theo Walcott

        Forwards
Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney
I'd have Dawson in for Carragher and drop Walcott to keep a better option (Parker)

i think heskey is kep to the way england play.not the best of players ill admit that but leads the line well.holds the ball up and wins his majority of headers.crouch does the same but referees always pick him out cos of his height so gives away to many free kicks

Lennon vs Walcott is the *one* position that i am not sure of. personally, I think that Lennon should probably start, but Capello does like what he sees in Walcott.

i'd start Heskey every time, purely because his inclusion improves everyone around him.

Crouch has a very impressive scoring record granted, but, and this is a horrible cliche, i'd keep him on the bench for "nuisance value" or "plan B" if you will.

willing to bet a fiver or a pint that, injury permitting, i've got 10 of the starting XI right.

He should never play for England after writing in his book that losing out on penalties would hurt even more had it been with Liverpool.

And I totally agree about Heskey & Zamora.

Heskey wins headers and works for his team, but so does Zamora. However, Zamora is capable of hitting a cow's #### with a banjo, Heskey isn't.

I am relieved to see that Dawson & Huddlestone are included and Hargreaves isn't, the latter, has barely kicked a football this season.

Capello has empirical evidence that the inclusion of Heskey has a dramatic positive effect on the overall play of the England team. he's played Heskey and Rooney for the ENTIRE qualifying campaign, to great effect.

i seriouslt don't see Capello changing a clearly winning formula a month before the world cup...

heskey for me over zamora any day of the week.although heskey doesnt score much he does a great job for england and proved that during the qualifying.gets to much criticism IMO all the squad always say how much of an unsung hero heskey is and love having him in the team

Heskey also concedes free kicks. Remember the one against France that cost England so heavily in Euro 2004? He'd ony been on the pitch for about a minute when he came back to help the defence and clumsily bundled over a player on the edge of the box.

Crouch has proven time and again that he not only scores goals for England, but wins headers and can hold onto the ball to bring others into play.

he's never going to score the goals to win us the world cup, but his workrate up front means that the players operating under him (not only Rooney, but Lampard, Gerrard et al) all operate better when Heskey is playing.
Post of the day! Isleworth has lost it and has also only picked 1 target man in crouch. Rooney is englands main man and for that reason Heskey has to start!

He also brings our world class players lampard and gerrard into the game. Does the donkey work that QPR as well as england have been crying out for.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

9 of the starting line up are secure in my view, only Rooneys strike partner and right mid are up for debate. Personally I would go with Crouch, i think he is quality and his scoring record is awesome. Lennon on the right because walcott is a better option off the bench and lennon has started regularly under capello
