Are people happy with the transfer policy at our club now? (2nd time of asking)

This transfer saga from,firstly NW and now Saksena is just all about banging the ST Drum,six days to go for early birds,it's all about hope once again,i,personally am going to wait to see who these signings are before i decide on a ST,dont care if it costs a little more,not gonna get caught with promises !!!!!!

if they were going out to spend stupid money on wastefull players they would have been anounced by the itk's now all ready

Further Question... Should we ever hand out a 4 year contract again , and if so under what circumstances?

It depends on the player. Young, talented, promising players can be develepoed and sold on for a profit if they have more than a year left on their contracts. i.e. Taarabt, yes. He is young, gifted and when he learns more about playing a team game, he will be an asset that QPR can profit from.

Buzsaky, is another player I would have given a 3-4 year deal. When he signed, he was in his mid 20's, a full international and had QPR won promotion last season, he would be a player that QPR can reward with a new deal or sell on for a profit.

Players such as Vine, Agyemang, Hall are a no. These were not going to go on and develop into saleable assets.

I know I will not have much time to attend games next season, so wont be buying one, but had my circumstances been different, I would also be waiting until I see the calibre of signings.

I think there are many fans who will do the same thing.

The rumoured signings of Clint Hill and Jamie Mackie, although under Warnock's management could win promotion, they are not the calibre that would inspire me to pay £550 to buy a ST for next season.

4 years is too long as things change quickly in football. Three years max. and the club should have a policy of reviewing contracts with a year left to run - if the player has proved his worth consistently, offer him an extension; if not, don't.

There is no point dishing out long term contracts following on from a successful loan spell as it seems to breed complacency in certain players - once they have the stabiulity of a contract, they lose the hunger and then we are saddled with them.

The Bosman situation is no longer new and clubs have to get used to losing players. Its a shame, but that's football these days and clubs have to learn that this fear is crippling them financially. If a player is coming to the end of his contract and is not willing to sign a new one, get on with things - either think of him as a loan player, who is off at the end of the season or cash in during the January if you can get money in and can replace him; do that rather than saddling the club with excessively long contracts...

So we all agree that Paladini having "NISH" to do with any type of transfer at the club

a) Provides a better quality player
b) Saves money on scandalously long contracts
c) Saves money on agents fees ( using his preffered agent)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

When Hall signed he had a good record at Championship level and some Premiership experience. He had cost Wigan £3.5m from recollection and we got him for £1.3m. We had a small window of opportunity that January to sign players and get away from the relegation struggle.

Hall did fine, Vine was superb. Agyemang, despite some now well founded reservations on length of contract, had a fantastic start.

Bottom line was we had to attract players and quick and that involved in some cases overly long contracts. Worked well at time albeit we are now lumbered with some who have not sustained their initial impact.

Very easy to look back and moan but we did what we had to. Is it not about time people stopped complaining about the past and looked to the furture? We now have a good proven manager and a seemingly sensible board. I' happy. Who knows, if Hall does come back maybe NW can get him playing at a decent level at least as a half useful squad player.

For me I'm relatively happy. Given how bad things were looking at one stage we have come through it and look to have a solid base going forward.

As for Paladini get over it FFS. He is just not important anymore.

Regarding transfers this summer:

At least Paladini isn't being mentioned within the heirachy at our club, regarding transfers. This for me will eradicate the wasting of our money, as Paladini will be nothing to do with transfers, and we have seen the last of 4 year contracts @ 15k a week to no hoper's like Agyemang and Hall.

Further more Neil Warnocks comments "Paladini proof" our transfers...

"Every time a target becomes available who I believe we can get, I will speak with Ishan (Saksena) and Amit (Bhatia). Obviously financial aspects will come into it"

Well according to QBP, NW & Paladini will be working hard to bring players to the club.

Alternatively, the way I and I'm sure you see it is NW, his management team and scouting network of 12 including 2 chief scouts will be working hard to identify and bring the right players to club. NW will then talk to the real chairman Ishan Saksena and owner Amit Bhatia with regards to financing and negotiating deals.

4 year contracts ? Only in very special circumstances for me.
Stirling, German and Perritt (?) probably, O'Brian possibly.
Youngsters would not cost so much to tie down for a longer period, would protect against losing them cheaply, push their price up and most importantly encourage them to stay with us.
Taarabt ? Mmmmm ! Much as I like a playmaker like him, probably not on the wages he would demand. Championship clubs can't generally afford to be held to ransom by individual players.

Warnock would not have taken the job if he had any concerns over Paladini,for me its as simple as that.
Why would he come to a club thats been riddled with boardroom interferance unless hes been guaranteed that he calls the shots from day one.
