Now that Gillingham have been relegated would you put in a small bid to prize him away?

I know alot what being said about him early season but the goals dried up recently.

I would sign him but i would also expect another 2 proven premiership/championship strickers aswell.

He's worth a look providing we get 2-3 proven at this level. Young and clearly knows how to score, but can he make the jump?
    Your mum would love me...

Always a gamble. The likes of Simon Cox, Jamie Ward, Freddie Eastwood, Hooper, Sam Vokes, Nicky Maynard and Matty Fryatt have done it with mixed results but it can really pay off. Id like to know how much they would accept.

Wouldnt pay more than £200-300k to be honest, didnt exactly set L1 alight, although he was in a poor side.

I wanted him bought in at the start of the season, think he would be a good addition. He is well worth a punt if the price is no more than 200 thousand.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

Wouldnt it be better to buy off teams going up ? Im sure they would want to release players to get in new for a Premiership season. Somelike like Ross McCormack from us if we go up, or even getting Dexter back if its Forest. Ernie doesnt seem to start regulary for Forest, hes another Championship proven goalscorer

I watched him play on Saturday at Wycombe in a game they had to drew to stay up, so the motivation was there to put a shift in and apart from missing a sitter, he done absolutely nothing. Why would a team looking to get promoted next season, would go for him.

Heard from a good mate of mine who went, that the whole Gillingham side were not motivated for a 'must draw' game. So probably a little harsh to just single out Jackson. As others have said for a small fee he would be worth a gamble.

Looks like a great player on his day, I was one of those calling for us to sign him earlier on this season. Given his poor form towards the end of the season there are probably some question marks surrounding consistancy......worth a punt if the price is right I reckon.

I think QPR could offer him a 1 month trial, he could play pre season to see how well he fits in.

I think he would be worth a gamble. I doubt if Gillingham would expect more than £300K-500 considering their relegation and he wont want to drop back into L2.

For me, he would be a good player to have in the squad, but I agree, a proven striker at this level is a must.

Kevin Phillips is available on a free, also, Kitson & Beattie are on the way out of Stoke. Jason Roberts looks likely to leave Blackburn too and Hooper is definitely a striker I would bid for.

We already have Hogan, Simpson, German and Balanta, so we do not need another paper weight, even if he is free.
