Not sure of the details but how are you expected to compete with the teams who get relegated from the prem when they are getting £16m £16m £8m £8m over four years?

I can see the thinking behind this. The Premier League are trying to allow newly promoted sides to be able to attract the best talent and compete with more established Premiership sides, rather than having to worry about potentially getting relegated with Premiership salaries and facing administration.
Unfortunately what it is doing is creating an unfair advantage the following season in favour of sides relegated to the Championship. Teams like West Brom have been, and will continue to use it heavily to their advantage.
We should count ourselves lucky to have wealthy owners who are willing to invest in the club in order to make us competetive. I do feel for other low income sides in the division though, the promised land of the Premiership is becoming increasingly more difficult to reach without pots of cash!

This is not good news - it is killing football in this country.
The Prem are protecting themselves and the league are creating a yo-yo situation.
If clubs over spend to stay up and don't put relegation clauses in to players contracts then they are not managing sensibly.
This will means the CCC will become even more of a joke as it will just be the teams that come down going back up and the competitiveness will juet disapear - we are already seeing that happen.
Being paid millions, i think it's 12 million for 4 years - for failing is wrong. How can we have a competitive league system under that.
It is the strength in depth of the English league that gives english football it's appeal - we are destroying that.Last edited by silvercue; 11-05-2010, 03:58 PM.
