    Worth a punt?

Out of contract at Newcastle, looking to continue playing, if he was willing to come down south imo he would be a fantastic signing!!?

I know experience is something we have been missing but for me he is too old.

Try telling that to Scholes, Neville and Giggs.

I think he could still do a job, but can't see us signing him.
        Your mum would love me...

wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Ipswich - the keane factor etc.

come on he's nearly 36 and his legs have gone.... every single Newcastle fan says that he's not upto it anymore... he's finished, might as well stick with Mahon.

I love the way some folk say a man is past it.

                      Furlong kept banging them in.
Dean Windass kep banging them in.
                      Gary Speed kept bossing midfields.

Gary Neville, Scholes, Giggs, Gattuso, Maldini...I could name many more who laugh at comments like this. The said names calibre has nothing to do with it. They kept themselves in shape (albeit, Windass' shape was round) and carried on doing what they were paid to do. Some at the highest level, others at a lower standard, but they still played the game well. This is Butt's level, and he's more than capable of doing a job.

His legs have gone? Sorry my apologies I didn't realise you were his personal doctor.

Who out of these had pace?

                        Teddy Sheringham
                        Ray Wilkins
                        Paul Scholes
                        Roy Keane

                        Answer NONE

Correct he is 36, that's a very fit, knowledgeable, experienced 36 but hey its all about opinions and mine is that along with a young vibrant Faurlin pulling the strings I think he would not only compliment the team but would also make us very solid with him sitting in front of the back 4.

No disrespect to you but you're having a bubble bath with this!

Why not get back Quashie and Super Ray
