I think whether a player can play on into his late 30's is very much a case by case thing. Some players look after themselves and stay injury free and as such last well into their 30's. Others are shot many years sooner.

From what I've seen and heard this season Nicky Butt is no longer up to the job at this level!

Im being deadly serious.

Cant really put Quashie in the same bracket as Nicky Butt, and well super ray isnt even worth answering.

Seriously at championship level i think he could do a job, also he played a massive role in being in the one of utds best teams of all time.

Also 30 something caps for england, dont get that through luck.

the point people are trying to make though is that he's been in the championship this season - in an otherwise successful team - and not been up to it.

sometimes good players do go on forever but other times they just get old and rubbish. butt is of the latter variety.
