  • For those who are happy with the signings possibly of Stead , Hill and Harte

If these type of players are signed, expect another very average mid table finish. I will be buying my season ticket yet again for the 25 year but cannot say I am happy with this calibure of player.

My expectations will be a mid table finish with these players.
If you are happy with these players then dont come on here half way next season, whinging about paying your £600 for an overpriced season ticket, as you wont get champagne football with some of the donkeys mentioned.

I want some quality like Koumas, Charlie Adam, Speroni etc.

    I told you so.

And if they're bought to add depth to the likes of Hooper, Pratley, Adam, Maynard etc., would you still be moaning?

Give it a chance mate. Everyone's so quick to kick off these days. Don't get me wrong, I understand your frustration, but this is not just a new era. We're now under a new regime.

    Wait and see what happens.

No Benny, I agree with you if we get quality in then the others are average squad players, but surely for season ticket sales the "star" players should be signed now and these donkey brought in later.

Free transfers are usually quick to deal with. The player has either run his contract down as he's made a decission to leave, or they are surplus to requirements. Good players not only need a fee to be agreed, and terms to be offered, but they'll usually have a few options to mull over. Mostly, this will mean that they'll take time before making a decission on their future. Hold tight mate...I think we'll do ok in the Market this year.

Benny logically I agree with you and of course you are absolutely right but think fans are also used to a certain pattern - "be patient, this time we really are serious about promotion, don't forget the season's just ended" This gives way to "there's still a couple of weeks till pre-season, that's when the real deals are done" to "stop whinging, the season hasn't even quite kicked off yet" to "oh well, there's always the transfer window" and finally to "this season was always going to be about consolidation rather than promotion, obviously all the managerial changes haven't helped and there's the whole summer to look forward to some quality signings..." Sound familiar...?

Very familiar, and i think that is why most are not getting over optimistic about this summer,if big names are brought in,then we will be pleasently suprised.

What has Warnock been so excited about since he has come here then.

No one is asking you to get carried away. I'm just suggesting we should stop moaning at these rumours as we could still end up with a good team. Warnock is always there abouts in this league, so I trust his player judgement.

We need to forget about the past as it's all irellevant now. Firstly, we've got rid of Flabbio. This would indicate no more interference at boardroom level. Warnock would not be here otherwise. Secondly, we have Neil Warnock in charge. Not a foreign manager with no knowledge of English football, and more importantly, this league. Not a man with no managerial experience whatsoever. Not a puppet who'll be told who to buy, and who to sell. Now we've got a man who's clearly still got an appetite to succeed and a passion for the game. Finally, we've got a board with ambition. A team of directors who seem more than willing to back the manager, giving him the financial clout needed to get to the Prem. Make no mistake...Amit and Ishan mean business and want to do right by us, the fans. I'm not saying there's an open cheque as we still need to be run as a business, otherwise we'll end up like Pompey, Cardiff or Hull who have clearly lived way beyond their means. We need these freebies to stop that happening. We cannot sign a team of £2-3m players in the hope it'll work because if it doesn't...we may not have a club to support. Warnock has done wonders on tight budgets in the past, so I'm actually quite excited to see what the man can do with some proper backing.

I didn't intend this to sound like some heartfelt, mushy, fingers down throat and puke post. I'm just trying to explain why this time round, we have real reason to believe.
