Why is football and QPR such an important part of your life? Why do u think u got hooked?

  • #2
Got hooked from seeing this team win week in, week out 75-76
    .

As you get older you are not in ore of players like you were when you'll younger and to be honest they come and go, not much affilation with the club itself.

Its the fans that make this club what it is. Internet plays a major part in bringing everyone closer together

I got hooked by Gordon Hill in his united days. So when he went to QPR I follow and then I was amazed by Clive Allen and Paul Goddard.

Apart from passion for individual players, it is all about own identity and togetherness.

              Wish I could say that!
I still turn into a jibbering idiot if I'm within 10 yards of a player -- it's one of the reasons I shy away from things like POTY -- would look a complete fool in front of the players I idolise and I don't want them thinking that of me.

Psycologically, being with a team for a long time is all to do with having an identity -- being part of that group - that's why we all go on about the QPR family so much. It's about belonging, whether times are good or bad.

Its supporting a club who were smaller than Brentford, had a couple of old wooden stands, the rest of the ground was concrete and mud, no nationly known players to speak of, no one had really heard of us outside of the old 3rd division.

To play their way out of that 3rd division along the way a trip to wembley, and the league cup, and then in the next season to gain promotion to the dream league for little qpr, to build a stadium and become for a while bigger than chelsea, with England, scottish and irish internationals, plus two internatonal captains.

To be religated and later promoted, play in europe, two more wembley finals, many of our players became household names as well as the club, the have some of the most famous managers in the country at the club.

                Sounds like somebodys fairystory.
Thats what supporting this club is, a dream, from nothing to being one of the best teams in europe in our day.

                        1. Can I put ''Hoop'' as my nationality on my passport? I'd love to!
                        2. Family first, but I'd be disappointed if they weren't Rangers through and through too.
                        3. All my disposable income goes on Rangers -- no other real hobbies as such.
