Totally untrue. I remember big stories in the press over the past few years about an Oxbridge graduate and some sort of senior sales manager (Cardiff fan) being prosecuted for football violence. Why were these big stories? Because the were the exceptions that proved the rule. You only have to read most of the apologists for violence on messageboards to note that they can barely express themselves. And when you hear people gloating about hooliganism it's pretty obvious that they are not the brightest of sparks. It's undeniable. To put it bluntly, they tend to be thick.

Does this mean that no educated person ever gets involved? Of course not. What I said was that they "tend" to be semi-literate, and that it absolutely the case. They tend to be. But agreed, not exclusively.

True sadly, but we could make our world more 'ideal' if enough of us took a stand, and that includes the club itself. Chairmen and owners love to project themselves as regular blokes who like to mix with the riff-raff like us, but they could use that influence more positively than they tend to do.

I know I'm fighting a losing battle here, but that's my view.

      Will.
You are following the stereo type the press love to portray of the football hooligan.Yes im not the most gifted at english and may have trouble expressing myself but does that make me stupid. We all have diffrent talents in life. Some are good with their heads some with their hands. And not in a violence way but in say construction.

Will just say you can write essays, speak 2 languages etc but cant mend a car engine.Does this make you stupid?

Finally as for the all walks of life debate in fb violence it is very true. You have your "stupid people" and your proffesionals.I personally used to go with Brokers,Bankers,Builders, nurse, lawyer and even a policeman who all got in to fights .If youd of ever been in the scene you would also know that from mid 80s onwards there was a lot of organisation starting to come into play.Mainly to dodge the more savy police who were not going to get walked over like the 70s.And indeed a number of these organised gangs also went on to lucrative {very] ventures both legal and illegal.

Loan i think Wills post shows a lack of inteligence.Im not in the slight saying hes a fool. But to label a whole group of people without any knowledge of the whos, whats and whys is ignorance in my mind.Just because it may not be palatable to you you should not just dismmiss it.It has been a big movement in British culture for decades and many a young man and even some ladies have been a part in one way or another.Hooligan{casual] as it evolved into was a miss match of diffrent things.Fighting was only a small part of it with clothes music and the like more domminant. And in the dark days of pish running down the terraces ,no roofs and before the modern fan gave up there sofas it was casuals who were spending their cash folowing there teams up and down the country and keeping the clubs alive.A lot of people forget this and there brains only go back to Sky era.

Who cares if some people want to have a biff up? I would imagine its great fun providing the other bods are up for a row and you don't go picking on people who don't want to know. I personally can see why some people in this nanny state (which tries to shackle our every freedom) would enjoy going out weighing in some like minded young men from an opposition club. I'm not endorsing hooliganism but merely suggesting its not wholly unreasonable to get involved. I do incidently think its going to get worse again over the next few years!

Unfortunatly mate not everyone goes to Football to see grown men kicking s hit out of each other, and when there are young kids scared out of their minds because its right in front of them then its wrong, completely wrong. Most of these 'Ard nuts' who got to football 'looking for a tear up' would run a mile if offered a 1-on-1 so why they think they are big and tough just because they are beered up and with their pals is beyond me. Ive been going football 25 years and only once have i been involved in any sort of aggro and that was because some bod from Preston started on me. These idiots who want to have a scrap should pop down their local boxing club, there's plenty of takers for a toe to toe.

I tried that! 3 minutes is ages in a fight and you cant expect someone to fight that long when you smoke as much as I do! Ive got about a 15 second window of knock-out oppurtunity before I need to conserve energy for running! They also got the hump when I tried to dip my gloves in broken glass!

In all seriousness I agree on the children front its not right to do that in front of kids as it can be very scary!

                        • the reason why there are no fights at rugby

the reason why there are no fights at rugby is because places like bermondsey and northolt where a brain is a very scarce thing indeed are not allowed to play rugby
so someone like me the **** of the earth banned from every pub for miles have to go to qpr
when i see a geordie acting tough,a little voice tells me he needs chinning
this is the no brain northolt mentallity really and we have 14 council estates full of people like me
the brain damage we take on from being surrounded with lunatics ,is just unimaginable, and geordies are just on our food chain
so its a society thing,my father was a paratrooper,so i had to be the toughest bloke in the block, unfortunately everyone elses father in northolt was a paratrooper so it was a nut house,BUT WHEN I DIE I WANT MY ASHES SCATTERD ON THE HOLY 14 COUNCIL ESTATES,BY THE GREAT PYRAMIDS
AND MY CHILDREN WILL ALL BE QPR FANS AS NORTHOLT IS THE GREATEST CONCENTRATE OF QPR FANS...............NORTHOLT LADBROKE GROVE AND SOUTH OXHEY THESE ARE THE PLACES TO FIND PEOPLE WEARING QPR SHIRTS
